Mercifully quiet (thanks to an acoustical tile ceiling , this gem is hidden behind Clancy 's Fish Pub, but it 's well worth searching for. Like several restaurants I 've tried since 'lockdown ', the portions seem to have gotten bigger — along with the prices! The food is still delicious, though, and beautifully presented. Well worth a visit. (See photos for more comments... View all feedback.
What Padmacara doesn't like about Hayashi Japanese Restaurant:
Great wine list, including lots of sakes. Good food, though a bit subtle (for which read 'bland ' for my taste. Generous portions, reasonable prices, easy to get to, friendly service. View all feedback.
This restaurant has become too expensive with very small serves average service they always try to charge for mineral water when you ask for tap don’t think we’ll be back we’ve given it many chances as it’s close

Six of us came here for a lovely Japanese meal. The service was prompt and friendly. Three of us had tempura, which was delicious. One had teriyaki chicken, sushi, and ramen noodles all with thumbs up approvals. Definitely will come again.
Friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. We appreciated not being rushed through our courses and everything came out in a timely manner. There were 2 things that prompted a 4 star review: No hand towels in the ladies toilets and my friend kept knocking the stand with ornaments placed right behind his shoulder. Otherwise everything was excellent and we'd definitely go again
We have dined here many times and never fails to impress. Great service, always prompt and polite. Each of the meals were great we all really enjoyed.
