Absolutely delicious food spoilt by an intransigent chef who insisted on charging £7 for a couple of slivers of salmon added to an avocado salsa on sourdough. This was exacerbated by the guy on the till insisting on talking over me when I complained about this. Overall great food but avoid unless you enjoy being ripped off. Left a very sour taste. read moreNestled on a charming cobbled street in Appleby, this family-run restaurant harmoniously combines a delightful menu with exceptional service. Diners rave about the first-class food offerings, from tender lamb to decadent Bakewell tart, though some have noted the pricing for add-ons can feel excessive. The quaint café setting, adorned with lovely giftware and an impressive selection of reasonably priced wines, adds to the unique atmosphere. While the pace may be leisurely, the warm, friendly staff ensure a welcoming experience. Patrons leave with a desire to return, having savored a memorable meal in this characterful establishment.
