Belgian Cafe - Apex
Belgian Cafe
Description
This charming French-style café in Apex serves bakery-quality pastries, fluffy quiche, excellent croissants and Belgian waffles, plus rich coffee, less-sweet cocoa and freshly pressed juices. Portions are modest and prices slightly above nearby spots, but friendly service, cleanliness and reliable Wi-Fi make it ideal for relaxed breakfasts, brunches or getting work done. The bright, cozy sit-down space is worth seeking out despite being tucked into a strip center and occasionally slower kitchen service.

I have no complaints about the food. We tried the quiche and a waffle with brioche cream bun. The quiche was incredibly fluffy and even came with edible flowers, which was a delightful surprise. The waffles were also good. We took some macarons to go as well. The hot chocolate here is different from what you’d expect at Starbucks; some may find it less sweet, but it is called cocoa after all! My wife really enjoyed her freshly pressed ABI juice. I felt that the prices were about $2 higher per menu item compared to La Farm. We left feeling satisfied. I came here to get some work done, and the Wi-Fi was good. Overall, the freshly squeezed ABI and slightly overpriced but tasty food are worth a try!
The directions on Google Maps are misleading; you don't actually need to enter from the street. Instead, turn right or left onto Pemberton Hill Rd, then take an immediate left and continue straight. This charming café offers delicious food and outstanding service, following the best traditions of French cuisine. The staff is friendly and can assist you with a fantastic selection for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Don't miss the amazing Belgian waffles, quiches, croissants, and their wonderful coffee and hot chocolate. It might be somewhat tricky to spot it on NC 55, close to US 64; it's conveniently located right along the road from the NC 55 entrance to Beaver Creek.
This café is amazing! The pastries are incredibly delicious, and the coffee is fresh! I can't wait to come back every day!
Summary: Very good, especially if you are about the authenticity of your French breakfast items. Omelettes are delicious, but a bit expensive for the portion size. Today I found myself in Apex for the first time and was longing to find a non-chain restaurant where to find a Saturday latte. I found Belgian cafe. From its location in a boring stripe shopping center to its parking area opposite sidewalk seats, it does not see how much from outside. However, the interior is clean, well illuminated and designed like a modern café, and the food is top notch. I had a little latte $3.84, an omelet $8.95 and a croissant $2.95. The latte was delicious, but not terribly hot and had much less foam than the standard. What it did was dense and creamy I wish it had been more! The Omelette was a daily special: kale/mushroom/Swiss. I think they used Shiiitake mushrooms that will certainly hit the gourmet index. The eggs were cooked with the typical French approach: unapologetic use of fatty ingredients, served in modest portions. It was about half the size of a typical restaurant served with maybe 2 eggs, but it glittered with butter and tasted like a dream. The croissant had a beautiful texture, with perfect layers and fluffiness and a soft, fluffy interior. On the scale from Paris 10 to Epcot Paris 1 a firm 9.4. The French are very accurate. His superior competitors in the area are Boulted Bread, Guglhupf and La Farm. Many reviews here mention a long waiting period. I came at 11:30 on a Saturday and the line was quite short, but the food took a while. It was pretty full inside. Target for a less busy hour and try to sit inside: the strikingly unpleasant, tiny wooden café chairs almost on the parking lot are the only essential drawback for this beautiful place.
I happened to pass this little cafe...if you blink you will miss it. If I were you I would write down the address right now and make sure you go. I had a slice of quiche that was to die for and they had the most beautiful looking desserts ever. I'm going to make my way back to try their Belgian waffles they look amazing. The only advice I would like to leave for the owners please please please advertise more I think that was the best lunch I've had in about 2 years. Super clean, fantastic food and a nice friendly staff. I'm telling all of my friends and you should be telling all of your friends that this is the most wonderful place again Apex. And they cater!! Fyi I did not get paid for this advertisement.
