What Josefina Menchaca dislikes about Chicago's Number One Gyros:
I ordered a Gyro and replaced my fries with a Greek salad. The wording on the web site is ...All sandwiches include fries instead of fries get a Greek salad I called them and stated I think they overcharged. They said no, they credit the fries and add a small Greek salad. The small Greek salad they charged me for was $6.99. and it was just a side, not a whole separate salad. Amazing gyros! I have been searching for a great Greek/Gyro restaurant since moving to Arizona and I think I have finally found one! The gyro combo is priced at around $11 and it is very satisfying! The meat was juicy, the pita bread was soft, and the tzatziki sauce was flavorful and creamy. The restaurant has plenty of seating, although it can get a bit warm inside. I will definitely be returning every time I am craving Greek food!
I would give this restaurant two stars for its convenience and cleanliness. I was disappointed that the Chicago dog did not come with poppy seeds and the hotdog itself didn't taste very good. The pickle spear was old and appeared to be rotten. The gyro was decent, but overall, I probably won't be back.
I really enjoy this restaurant, so I was disappointed to find out that they were closed when we made the 20-minute drive on a Sunday. It seems that Google Maps had the wrong hours. We will have to try visiting again during the week.
