My order o... read more Cramped seating and overpriced dishes set a low bar from the start, but I tried to stay optimistic. Unfortunately, the experience only went downhill. My order of lamb köfte arrived as two undersized patties—barely a mouthful and laughably poor value for what it cost (you could buy two kilos of lamb mince for the same price). Still, one goes out for the overall experience, not just portion sizes… until that experience includes biting into a piece of plastic larger than a bottle cap. That’s not just disappointing—it’s hazardous. To add insult to injury, the wine list seems to have been curated without a second thought for ethics. Most options are sourced from countries still grappling with the legacy—or active reality—of apartheid systems. Between the exploitative pricing and the problematic sourcing, this place leaves a bad taste in more ways than one. The only good thing i have to say is about the server who clearly wasn’t the owner, he was super friendly and very professional!

I would not be ma... read more The service make us never coming back. We came there some time ago, sat in the terrace and waited about 20 minutes for a waiter to come to us. I would not be mad if it would be packed with people but we were one of 4 tables inside and outside that were taken! My husband went inside to ask for the menu and service but all he got was we will come to your table when we are free . Took us 5 minutes to go to Takumi for that day 's dinner. This weekend we gave them second chance failed once again. Came with friends, not a big group (5 baby in a trolley) we got refused to get a table because everything is reserved . Nothing unusual it can be but because friend took 2 circles with baby outside to put her asleep, noticed that no place was taken after we left. Even an hour later, the area was still empty. Sumac might be the same restaurant group as Fugu Sushi Bar, might even has as good food but SERVICE IS MORE THAN TRAGIC.

The dishes are very flavourful and fresh, portions are great. It was really hard to choose because everything seemed delicious and flavourful so we’ll come back for sure !! Also the waiter was very nice
