Food is good, fresh ingredients. Service is human, not fancy, just nice. In the summer, the terrasse (patio) is especially nice : not far apart from main roads, but it feels calm nevertheless, effortless conversation (a big bonus to me).
I'm an ACCOR Gold and stay in many of their hotels annually. The hotel was easy to find with GPS but not well sign posted, which helps and close to the motorway. It was clearly busy with customers when we arrived at 8.30pm. Check in was swift and friendly. we had booked two prestige rooms. Both were recently renovated, of a good size with nice bathrooms. One of them stank a horrible fish smell , likely the glue that had been used to stick the carpet. We'd opened the window 1C outside! , hoping to let the smell out whilst we were at dinner. It hadn't had any real effect by the time we returned. Unfortunately, at 10pm there was nobody around reception and I gave up waiting after 10 mins, as I was tired from 11h driving that day. The room really shouldn't have been let out to customers. Dinner was not good. The manager was told us they were full, even though I could see empty tables. I asked what we could do, and he shrugged they were full. So I asked if he did room service. He said yes. Then I asked if we could eat at the empty table to the side of the bar. He shrugged! So we ate there. Our food was disappointing an opinion shared by other guests around us too. In contrast, breakfast was superb! Both in terms of the variety and quality of the food on offer.
