Ye Chon - Annandale
Ye Chon
Description
This classic Korean restaurant delivers fresh, flavorful dishes and generous banchan with free refills. Standouts include bulgogi, Galbi-Tang short ribs and seafood platters, while some kimchi, mackerel and select sushi/octopus can be overly salty or uneven. Service is generally warm and attentive, with a bell-call system, but busy periods and large parties can slow service or lead to missing items. Cozy, well-spaced seating with window views and COVID-safe packaged utensils make it a welcoming spot worth revisiting.

The food was really fresh and flavorful. The tables were spaced adequately, but it was difficult to hear conversations at our table. During our visit, a large official delegation was present, which may have contributed to the slow service and some missing items from our order. I would be willing to give them another try.
This is a classic Korean restaurant with excellent service and delicious food. It was great to see many Korean diners there. The selection of banchan was beautiful, although the kimchi was surprisingly salty, making it difficult for me to enjoy. The sesame oil for the bean sprouts was also quite overpowering. However, I really liked the watercress and potatoes. The cold spicy noodles were fantastic, though I could have done without the bland beef and pear. I wasn't a big fan of the dumplings. My friend ordered Galbi-Tang, which was impressive; the short ribs were incredibly tender. I loved the mackerel, but it was a bit too salty, and I found myself very thirsty after the meal.
I had a fantastic dinner at this restaurant! It was quite busy when we arrived, but we managed to snag a window seat. They have a convenient bell system that allows you to press a button when you're ready to order or if you have any questions. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. I would recommend everything we tried, especially the Boggi and Sushi. The banchan was also plentiful and delicious!
I would definitely come here for Korean courts! Free refills and you get a variety. The portion sizes of the dishes are smaller but sufficient. Very tasty overall for dishes that contain meat and seafood, but I would get away from sushi and dishes that contain octopus as they do not taste so fresh.
