White tablecloths and good glassware, bottom-friendly booths and a smart bar create a sense of event and a measure of ease in this cosy, modern diner. The menu based on a seasonal selection that focuses on small producers. Freshly socked oysters with chicken pate, venison carpaccio, & scallops are very testy & present well. The Duck leg is transformed into a fine confit and presented with cinnamon, orange-scented red... View all feedback.
What Adele Fischer doesn't like about Booth St Bistro:
Before the new owners took over, Booth Street Bistro was a bit of a special occasion place. Not exactly ARIA, or Bennelong, but definitely a destination you'd look forward to. Now it's just an awful run-of-the-mill cafe, with bad service and even badder food. The fact that it's doing Groupon Deals suggests things are not going well. Warning: Don't order the pumpkin gnocchi. Or anything else for that matter. View all feedback.
After reading the recent mixed reviews we weren't sure what to expect. We'd found this place through the Entertainment book while looking for a mid-week suburban "date night" place and what a very pleasant surprise. The food was simple yet stunning, from the warm and more-ish sour-dough bread to our duck rillette entree, and both our mains - the lamb shanks was perfect for a winter's night and the prawn linguine was light yet with layers of beautiful flavours. We finished off with a faultless sticky date pudding. Well-priced with a very cute and warm ambience, we've found a new favourite and will be back!
We went to the Bistro after couple of months. We ordered 3 course meal. Both of us enjoyed the food.
Disappointed from start to end food came out way under cooked steak was blue asked for medium rare & the fish was raw in the middle. Had to go get dinner elsewhere it was that bad.
Booth Street Bistro at Annandale was a voucher I picked up as I've always wanted to try this restaurant. We started with cheese puffs which none of us really enjoyed, I thought they would be more cheesy than puffy and they were not.The chorizo was a good quality one and the oysters were good too, a little to big for my nieces liking but still tasty and creamy,I ordered the barramundi for main, Kylie ordered the pumpkin gnocchi and Cass and Kell both ordered the chilli garlic prawn linguine. The fish was fresh and cooked well, Kylies gnocchi was also tasty, I think the linguine was good as we didn't even get a look in from either girls and they cleaned their plate;)For dessert I ordered the chocolate fondant and so did Kylie, it was rich and delicious tho I wish we had shared it. The mango sorbet was nice tho a little bit icy.Kellie and Cassie both ordered the sticky date pudding and enjoyed it:)Overall a good meal, great service and nice ambience.Becca Bites
