Sava's Restaurant, formerly known as Sava's State Street Cafe, first opened its doors in June of 2007 in a cozy spot across from where we are now. Over the years, we have grown and evolved in collaboration with our customers to create a space and menu that we are truly proud of. In August of 2009, we moved to our current beautiful location, establishing a reputation for excellent service, a vibrant atmosphere, and delicious dishes. We welcome a diverse range of guests, from students and professors to locals and visitors. Our menu boasts a variety of homemade dishes made with quality ingredients sourced from local vendors, including Michigan beef, produce, and beer. We were disappointed that the menu does not change. Savas has always been the restaurant of choice for us when we visit Ann Arbor every year. Basically same menu and no specials. And quality of food seemed to decline.
This place is excellent. Unique, varied menu and great service.
We took our son (student at U of M) for a late dinner. Very interesting menu and everything we ordered (fish tacos, burger, Greek salad with salmon) was very good with large portions. Bang bang shrimp app was delicious too. Nice quiet place to talk and good service. Highly recommend.
We made a reservation on Open Table and were seated promptly, but later realized we had three additional guests joining for dinner. We informed the hostess and she was able to accommodate us. Thank you for being so helpful and making our special celebration a success!
I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. Throughout the entire meal, there were gnats and fruit flies flying around, landing in our food and drinks. When we mentioned this to the waitress, she brushed it off and attributed it to the changing weather, claiming that other restaurants were having the same issue. On top of this, the sandwiches, priced at $12-16, did not come with any sides included. Instead, you had to purchase sides for an additional $5-7. Both sandwiches we ordered were mediocre at best and did not impress us. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this restaurant.
