We had a wonderful time during our visit, enjoying authentic German cuisine. The staff was incredibly friendly, particularly our server, Laura, who was attentive and helpful, recommending some excellent dishes to try. We will definitely be returning soon! Metzger's has been my favorite German restaurant for over 35 years. Having ate in many in Michigan and Florida, my favorite is still Metzger's! They are a triple threat...great food, fabulous servers, cozy atmosphere and ample parking! You will not get a bad meal no matter what you order.
If you want great food in a great environment, you really need to come to Metzgers. Every time I go I need multiple entres. Pig hocks? Smoked Shank? Always a difficult choice. Nifflies and kraut, but wait better get the German potato salad too.. Beer: Go with the full stein. Strudel. Beef liver or chicken? Both?
We lived in Germany for 2 years. This is the closest I have come to authentic German food since I have been back!! Mmmm.....sauerkraut!!
I moved from Michigan to South Carolina about 5 years ago and every time I come home I have to go to Metzger's. I've been taking and thinking about this place for months prior to this trip, and it did not disappoint! I'll definitely be back again at Christmas!
It was some of the best German food I have had. We will also be stopping in again as we will be down that way next week but I will also be telling all my family about this little gem of a restaurant we also had great service.
