What Anonym dislikes about Summajoe's:
There was so much hype about this place, as a local I wanted to try it out. I was disappointed with the food option and atmosphere. I really want Anderson as a whole to become more modern and grow but restaurants like this lack style that could propel the businesses around to become great for our next generation. Food menu options felt limited, plating was decent. Our server was well mannered. The stares I received h... View all feedback.
Today was my second and final visit to this restaurant, and once again, my order was incorrect. I believe in giving second chances, which is why I decided to give them another try. I called in to order a Margherita pizza and a Caesar salad, but instead received a gyro and a subpar pizza. I should have just gone to Electric City, where I am always satisfied. I called the restaurant to inform them of the mistake, and they acknowledged the error and asked me to come pick up the correct order. However, my lunch hour was already over, so I declined. I felt that they were not very understanding of my disappointment.
This is a mixed review for me. The food here is awesome. The service is normally pretty good. They definitely aren 't fast, but the food is worth the wait so no issue there. I have been going to this place for several years now and it seems like the building is just kind of falling apart. The restrooms are just gross. Not only are they not clean but the floor literally smooshes beneath your feet while you walk. Several spots in the restaurant have sinking floors. There is tape covering tears in the floor and a rug covering a very bad spot in the men 's restroom. I always wonder what the area of the restaurant you cannot see looks like if they don 't care enough to clean the areas you can see. They were closed for a couple of weeks just recently and I was really hoping there was going to be some repairs done. I went to eat there last night and it was still the same. It is bad enough now that it will actually keep me from going back which is a shame because the food is real good.
Summa Joe's has, hands down the best pizza in Anderson, and it isn't particularly close.
