Location The Andechs monastery is located far above the valley of the Ammersee, the oldest pilgrimage site in Bavaria, the pilgrimage to the Holy Mountain. Benediktiner has been responsible for the Andech pilgrimage since 1455. Parking is sufficient for all types of vehicles at the foot of the mountain. Service Andechser Bräustüberl maintains the tradition of a pilgrim restaurant. Therefore, food can be consumed here or food or beverages can be brought to production itself. Kindness can't be expected here, everything works here as automated. Ambience Many rooms offer you space. Thick wooden beams with coats of arms decorate the ceiling. There are many dark wooden tables. Only beer lid on every table, for the sweet Andechser monastery beer, nothing else. On beautiful days you will have a magnificent view of the Bavarian Alps and a great landscape from the large terrace. Food Bavaria is eaten here, pork roast, Obazda. Haxe, meat cheese and large comminutions. Pigshaxn with potato salad (15,88 €) looked tempting. But in Bavaria there are no half things. Great and powerful she lay on the plate. Beautiful the Schwarte and well seasoned. A real and unexpected pleasure. For the small wallet there is a pilgrimage offer (2,90 €). In addition, we can enjoy a freshly baked width (3,00€). Conclusion: No quiet pilgrimage, but good food and drink can be found here.
If you want to find good restaurants, please go here. They would spend wonderful time with beautiful grilled pork.

While we visited Bavaria, we stopped here after learning about a monastery that is still brewed and publicly accessible. We're here at 11:30 and...
A lot has been written to Andech's monastery and many pictures have been set. That is why I want to leave it with a picture, and to the monastery I can only say that the marketing of this beautiful pilgrimage building is too much. I've been there for the first time for about 15 years, even then at the Klosterladen you could buy church things, which is absolutely fine, but what I saw today for a stuff bad. For example, a so-called plastic clam for 5 euros. And in the Klosterstüberl came as in the silence in the Hofbräuhaus in Munich. It's a scream, we're out of here. This is not worthy of a place like that. Surely tourists should come, feel comfortable, be good at it, but is it necessary to make such a fair of the year from this beautiful monastery complex?
