What User doesn't like about Pepper Mill:
Years ago, around 2000 or 2001, we loved dining at the charming Pfeffer Mill, which was beautifully decorated. The steaks were incredible, and even though I'm not a big fan of red meat, I could appreciate the size and quality of what was on my plate. However, since then, we moved away from Anchorage. We just had dinner at Peppermill, and it has completely transformed into a sports bar. If you're a fan of happy hours, they have a great one. Take a look at the menus I've shared!

Recently, we decided to revisit Pfeffer Mill, which was on our "to-do" list, and we were astounded by the transformation! They’ve shifted their focus from catering to those who appreciate fine dining to targeting a sports bar crowd. While I could have adapted to the new look, the food was disappointingly subpar. As a result, it has now made its way onto my "never again" list.
The waitstaff took a considerable amount of time to acknowledge our presence, and we had to seat ourselves. The location seems quite run-down and is situated in a less desirable area of Anchorage. Additionally, it shares space with another restaurant, which means that the bartender also serves as the waiter for both establishments. The portion sizes of the food were small, and the staff appeared genuinely surprised that we were dining there. We were even given the menu from the other restaurant! The food itself was tasty, but it was served on small plates, making it quite messy—especially for families with children, as there wasn't much room to eat comfortably. Overall, I wouldn't choose to dine here again. I recommend trying Naruto instead; the food there is much better.
