It's VERY rare I sit down at a restaurant in an airport, but I had 6+ hours to kill and wanted a real breakfast, so why not? I recommend you get your coffee elsewhere in the airport. I had the seafood omelet: they didn't skimp on protein; plenty of crab and it had pretty good flavors too. Overall, I was happy with it. The potatoes were kind of boring and a little undercooked. Service was fast at first, but after the... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Norton Sound Seafood House:
First of all, I want to stress that the service from the ONE bartender/server/host was actually wonderful. Aside from that this is probably the worst meal/cost quality I've ever had. 2 entrees and 2 drinks cost us 80 dollars and the food was literally frozen-food-from-a-grocery-isle quality. Never again! The food was outstanding!!! Our waiter was calm and positive, which made our experience enjoyable despite the busy atmosphere. Well done!!!
I stopped by for a quick meal, expecting the usual airport fare, but the fish and chips were absolutely fantastic! It was one of my favorite meals in Anchorage. A huge shoutout to Meghan, who managed the entire dining experience despite being short-staffed. Thank you, Meghan, you did an amazing job!
We had an excellent waiter who was attentive and ensured everything flowed smoothly. He crafted a perfect virgin drink for our new friend. This restaurant was an ideal place for a hearty meal, especially since we had a long night and morning of travel ahead. The atmosphere was pleasant, and it was easy to navigate in and out with our carry-on luggage.
As we waited and saw the two tables next to us finish their meals and leave, we started to pay attention to the time. Before we knew it, we had been there for over an hour. The waiter must have noticed us looking around because he finally stopped by our table and mentioned something about a malfunction with the order ticket or that it had been buried or lost in the kitchen. However, before he left, he tried to recall our order, but it was completely incorrect. He then said our order was almost ready while he rushed to handle things, all without leaving our table. Although we understood he was overwhelmed being the only one working, we ultimately felt disappointed and decided to leave without eating. As for parking, if you're flying, it's conveniently located in the airport on the other side of TSA security, so parking is a breeze.
The restaurant was dirty, and there were only two waitresses for a full house. We waited 15 minutes for our table to be cleaned, so we ended up doing it ourselves. Then we waited another 30 minutes for two bowls of chowder. We come to Alaska to fish every year and will be sure to warn other travelers we know about this experience. It was a disappointing way to end what had otherwise been a wonderful trip. This business should be ashamed!
