I don't know why this place has no better star rating. It is a wonderful option for vegans and vegetarians! For the third time visited and food and service were excellent. Can't wait for dinner in Namaste again! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Namaste Shangri-la:
A though 3 one for this one!! It 's best to eat Indian since this is better option in Anchorage city. But food quality is OK. We ordered appetizers Momo 's, Daal Soup..both were average.Main course Veg Thali, salmon curry , paneer matar masala and naan. Main course could have been better.Hygine Hygine wise they are OK. I have been to a lot of places, but this was one of my bad experience. I wanted to like the place but couldn’t.The food was average. Had to wait 1.5 hours after ordering. We were told main course would take some extra time and we ordered appetizers. But after 1.5 hours, main course came but appetizers weren’t even served. After reminding, the appetizer were served after the main course.
We love Indian food, ordered appetizers, garlic naan, both were good. The wait for our entrees were over 30 minutes. Both doses were too salty for our taste. The lamb was tough . The rice was undercooked. Disappointed, we only ate half of the okra dish, the sauce was good but salty, we left most of the lamb untouched. The owner/waiter didn’t even asked how we liked the food, he could see that there were lots left. I think they got good business and didn’t care.
Best food in town. My meat and potatoes junk food loving friends even think it's fabulous. So good I even had them cater my wedding a decade ago. Glad to see the word has gotten out more since!
We ordered two vegetarian Thalis and some breads. Excellent food, I could not not imagine having such delicious home style food in Alaska! Highly impressed.
