Up here for a business trip and had a taste of home. Ironically, this place was less than two miles from my work. The food here is so ONOlicious that I came to lunch two days in a row. The Katsu is super juicy and crispy and the Kalua pig is on the point. And her Ahi Poke appetizer is solid. If you are ever in Anchorage and want a taste of Hawaii, check Hula Hands in any case. Best Kalua pig ever. If I lived in a few blocks of this place, I would be every night (the aroma alone is amazing). Great service, local and premium product. Can't go wrong if you're looking for something Hawaiian; it's all good.
Delicious place, great service, good prices, huge portions. We love it here! All the meats are so tasty
I was up here on a business trip and got a taste of home. Ironically, this restaurant is less than two miles from my workplace. The food here is absolutely delicious—that's why I came for lunch two days in a row! The Katsu is incredibly juicy and crispy, and the Kalua pig is spot on. Plus, the Ahi Poke appetizer is fantastic. If you ever find yourself in Anchorage and craving a taste of Hawaii, definitely check out Hula Hands!
For appetizers, we ordered spam musubi and fried wontons. Our food arrived fairly quickly. The musubi was tasty, although I found the ratio of rice to spam to be off; there was too much rice and the spam was quite thin. The fried wontons were crispy and flavorful, but the filling was disappointingly small—about the size of a rubber ball. They did come with a delicious soy-wasabi dip. For our main courses, we opted for combo meals. I had a regular-sized chickenberry combo, one daughter went for a small pork-beef combo, and the other ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with fries. Overall, the food was quite good, and the portion sizes were generous; even the small plate had plenty of food. However, the beef wasn’t as hot as I would have liked when it arrived. The flavors were enjoyable, and I would definitely consider returning to this restaurant.
Guy Fieri needs to feature this place on an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Hula Hands offers truly authentic and hearty meals that make me want to dine here every time I'm in town.
