Denny's - Anchorage

We ordered our food online and received notification that it would be ready at 10:00pm. We arrived at 10:03pm and waited in the drive thru line for over 55 minutes. I ordered the Grand Slam and my son ordered a Brisket sandwich. I didn't think anyone could make bad pancakes, but Denny's proved me wrong. These had a hard crust on the bottom and smelled burned. ICK!

The night drive-through went from 30 min wait time to 2 hours. Ridiculous service. clearly they need new staff. Watching same cars stuck in line for past 2 hours. Nobody at hatch to attend to customers. I paid for my food 2 hours ago and will probably have to drive away empty handed!

I was surprised that it was actually a calm, not crowded atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was fairly priced, amazing, and timely. Very family friendly. I would love to go again!

Gotta shout out to whoever was working the line this Wednesday morning. I got *delivery* and I had some trepidation about ordering eggs over easy via delivery. And yeah, they weren’t piping hot but that’s not their fault, but even the warm eggs were so perfect. This was the cheapest diner I could find and I did not anticipate angelic, drippy yolks and crispy, perfectly seasoned hash browns. I’m giving thanks for you this year, chef. 10/10 would eat your sausage any time.

This was a while ago now (back in late April) but I still remember it and felt it notable to mention. For unimportant reasons, 12 of us showed up unannounced at Denny’s at 10 at night to celebrate an unimportant thing. Dennys staff, if any of you working that night see this, I just want to say again I am so sorry. But let me tell you, those staff members were amazing. They treated us so well, even though we put them through so much. They seated us quickly and efficiently, and took all of our orders. Not to mention they got our drinks out fast as all getout. Amazing costumer service, better then anything at most of the fancy restaurants I’ve been too. The food took a little while but again pretty good compared to other waits I’ve suffered, and this was 12 unannounced people at night. When the food came out, I was expecting mediocre food, alright and kind of filling, but not very good. Hotel restaurant food at best. Let me tell you, when that food came out it was amazing. Probably some of the best I have ever had from a restaurant. I ordered pancakes and did not regret it at all. Those were some of the best pancakes I have had in my entire life. I don’t know who that cook is that night, but let me tell you that they are going places. That food was amazing, not just by Denny’s standards but by standards for any restaurant. And that wasn’t just true for me, I heard similar statements echoed all around by the table. Once again, that food was amazing. By the end of our meal, we were stuffed and all left quickly. The staff were kind and polite and patient with us and our slow and primarily cash payments. It was amazing. Our experience had to be one of the best I have ever had, and I would gladly go again. Looking back, and relative to the conditions (12 unannounced teenagers at night), my Denny’s trip is likely the best dining experience I have ever had. I would highly recommend it. Dennys staff, if any of you see this, thank you so much and I’m so sorry for the trouble we caused. We hope to come back next year to celebrate the same thing. We will call in advance next time though.
