The Crows Nest was my favorite restaurant many years ago but that changed after a few bad meals there. Recently, I heard that issues were resolved so I gave it another shot for my birthday. Sadly, it was unremarkable. I had the lobster bisque which was tasty (scallop bisque at 7 Glaciers is amazing) and the crab legs which were good (crab legs at Sullivan's are fantastic). The drinks were good too. But when I compare the atmosphere and prices I'm looking for better than just good. I will say their bananas foster dessert made table side is still my favorite dessert in town. So, maybe go here for dessert and/or drinks only.
We were here last Saturday and it was wonderful! our waitress was so friendly and very attentive. the food was great and the hope was even better. we have made a joint anniversary/birth anniversary celebration and they have even surprised us with wonderful chocolate!
Service and food were excellent. The views are spectacular. Truly a great experience and cannot wait to return. A true gem.
Absolutely loved the dinner experience and will most definitely be making reservations when in town again.
Great place, staff was amazing and professional. Will definitely return!
The Crow's Nest in Anchorage is a must-visit restaurant with mixed reviews from diners. While some have experienced room issues and dated decor, others have raved about the attentive service and delicious food. The ambiance, drinks, and desserts receive high praise. Diners recommend requesting a table with a mountain view and trying the new cheese plate. The prices are on the higher side, but the exceptional service and fantastic food make it worth it for a special occasion. Overall, the restaurant offers a memorable dining experience with a stunning view of Anchorage.

We visited for my fiancé and his father’s birthday our waitress Chelsea was amazing and she made great recommendations! The food was 10/10, absolutely everything was perfect.
I'm inexperienced with fancy dining, but I had to check out the Crow's Nest with how much I see about it. I was very pleased. Chelsea, my waitress, was very sweet and informative. I got the swordfish entrée and the black forest for dessert. It was all very flavorful. I will admit, I wish there was more to the swordfish as I wasn't quite full after. I suppose the dessert helped with that. I also shared a picture of the amuse bouche as that's to help your palette. Just an olive paste, it seemed. I wish they provided more bread as they kept giving me one roll at a time. The cocktails were lovely. I got the sunburned mush, which is vodka, orange juice, and raspberries; and the Denali Coffee cocktail. All in all, I recommend.
The service was incredibly slow, and unfortunately, the food was either excessively salty, tasteless, or overcooked. The only highlights were the cocktail, bread, and tomato slices. It had fine dining prices but did not deliver fine dining quality in either food or service.
Dinner at the Crow’s Neat was the ideal conclusion to our Alaskan vacation. As soon as we arrived, Ryan welcomed us and made sure our dining experience was absolutely exceptional. Every dish was flawlessly prepared, and the flavors were exquisite. The views from the top floor were breathtaking. We wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant for an unforgettable dining experience.
Overrated. The food was just average. The waitress said the salmon would be cooked medium rare, but it arrived overcooked. The crabs were overly salty. The only highlight was the view from our table. Overall, I was disappointed.

Had yet another fantastic dinner on a lovely evening. Enjoyed the delicious food, excellent wine selection, and top-notch service. Perfect spot for special celebrations.
In general, I had a great time at this restaurant. The view and service were exceptional. However, I found the lobster roll to be overly salty and wished there were more seafood choices for the main course.
Fabulous views of downtown Anchorage and surrounding area. Service was top notch and food was excellent.
Service was OUTSTANDING Need more vegan and easily veganized options on the menu. We'd love to go more often but would need more choices.
We really enjoyed our celebration dinner. Jill was fantastic. We sincerely appreciate the service and attention.

Billed as Anchorage’s premier hotel, this is not a new property, but seems well-maintained. It was selected to host international conferences in years past. Staff are exceptionally helpful and accommodating. Entrances available from all adjacent streets. Several dining options, with different hours, price points.Rooms: We had a king bed and it looked small. Mattress was good and firm. Keurig coffee maker with good coffee and terry bathrobes and slippers made an otherwise “OK” room feel nicer. Plenty of charging outlets and good blackout curtains.Walkability: Easy access to 4 adjacent city streets, all with proper sidewalks. MostFood drinks: Dinner in Fletchers on arrival night was very good. Service was cheerful, but poorly paced, despite it being a slow night. Getting a table can be a problem if you arrive simultaneously with a cruise group, which overwhelms the food service operations. Pricing is high, like everywhere in Alaska seems to be. Presumably, no edibles (other than reindeer and salmon) are raised in Alaska. Expect to pay $25 for a burger fries or a basket of chicken fingers; bistro offers breakfast and lunch 5:30 AM.Noteworthy details: Several gift shops inside the property were open 7AM-10PM. Most commonly forgotten items (like tooth brush) were NOT over-priced, as is often the case. The place serves lots of cruises with an older clientele, and is well-organized to assist those with mobility issues or needing baggage assistance. There is a liquor store across the street. Downtown dining options are limited in Anchorage on the weekends and after business hours. Street parking free on weekends.
HAd dinner at the Crow's Nest in this restaurant. We had a dish I never saw before-fried olives. They were awesome-sprinkled in some bread crumbs, flash fried, throw some parmesan cheese on it with some garnish and deliciousness introduces itself. Service was great.
The service is what stood out for us. The rooms were comfortable and clean. A sweater blueberry stained on our long flight here went to the cleaners and was back the same evening in pristine condition. We were able to store some of our luggage with the bellman and retrieve it quickly when we stopped back for a one night stay a week later. A request for extra shower caps was quickly answered. Many hotels do not even stock them anymore. The hotel is two steep blocks from the coastal trail, which is a great activity if you arrive a day early for your cruise or tour. We ate at 3 venues, Fletcher's for a pizza after a late arrival, The Pantry for an early breakfast, and the Crow's Nest for a gourmet dinner. All the food was delicious and prepared to order. No buffet here! The venues can get crowded so best to go early for breakfast at the Pantry or dinner at Fletcher's. The finishing touch was when we had to leave for the airport at 3:30 AM. All the bellmen were collecting luggage from cruise passengers, so a front desk attendant took our luggage down himself and called us a cab.
Okay so I struggle w/ this one. Yes, it is a widely known conservatived upscale hotel. However, had I not have been influenced to perceive this establishment as such I would have made a different choice. The building inside and its decor is magnificent however the individual rooms are surprisingly outdated and nothing warranted a justification for the extreme difference in price with comparable rooms. But hey, You pay for the prestige I guess.
Most everything was good, however, husband and I both had upset stomachs from food

This is a lovely restaurant with outstanding service and a fantastic breakfast menu! We shared the avocado toast, which also included a choice of fruit or eggs for only $12! Our waitress Karen was wonderful—she provided prompt service and had a great attitude! We will definitely be returning!
If you’re staying at the Hotel Captain Hook, you’ll probably walk by The Café multiple times. Its open layout makes it easy to spot friends and family, so it’s a great place to suggest a meeting spot! The menu features tasty quick bites, but keep in mind that the café operates only in the morning and early afternoon. The staff is experienced in serving guests who need to quickly catch their buses, resulting in speedy service. While you wait, take a moment to appreciate the model ship and indulge in some people-watching! If you found this review helpful, please click the Like button.
I consistently receive excellent service here. My favorite dishes are the crab omelet and the avocado toast. The fruit cup, filled with fresh berries and bananas, is delicious. On average, breakfast costs around $18, and the portion sizes are generous. They also accommodate custom orders!
This restaurant offers amazing breakfast choices, quick service, and affordable prices! I’m particularly fond of the Reindeer scramble, and the omelets are outstanding. The coffee is robust, which is exactly how I enjoy it! Overall, I prefer this place over Snow City Cafe. It's conveniently situated in the lobby of the Cape Cook Hotel.

Beautiful view and was sat in a wonderful spot. Our waitress was very polite and informative. I?ve traveled many many places and have had many different foods and unfortunately I would say it was a typical steak and the salmon was very much so on the dryside, I?ve had salmon from much cheaper places that was also much, much better. A berry balsamic vinegrette in compliments tothe salmon would not have been my first choice. Seems as average or under average food but it does have a nice view and goodservice.
The view is stunning, but unfortunately, the overall experience doesn't justify the price. The staff is friendly, and everyone is dressed to match the upscale atmosphere. However, the food was mostly average. It felt like they were trying too hard to be fancy, but something simpler would have been more enjoyable.
From the warm welcome to the heartfelt farewell, my dining experience in Alaska was truly unforgettable! We enjoyed Old Fashioned Maple cocktails, fried olives, and foie gras mousse, followed by elegantly prepared salmon and halibut, perfectly complemented by their sides. The banana split with port wine was the cherry on top of this wonderful meal, all while taking in the stunning view of Anchorage. Thank you to everyone for such a fantastic experience!
The Crows Nest used to be my favorite restaurant many years ago, but my opinion changed after a few disappointing meals. Recently, I heard that the issues had been addressed, so I decided to give it another try for my birthday. Unfortunately, the experience was just okay. I ordered the lobster bisque, which was tasty (although the scallop bisque at 7 Glaciers is outstanding), and the crab legs, which were good as well (but the crab legs at Sullivan's are exceptional). The drinks were also nice. However, when I consider the atmosphere and prices, I expect more than just "good." On the bright side, their tableside bananas foster remains my favorite dessert in town. So, I would recommend visiting for dessert and/or drinks, but perhaps not for a full meal.

This is an older, somewhat upscale hotel, rather than a brand-new business hotel or a luxury resort. If you adjust your expectations accordingly, you’re likely to have a wonderful experience...
I stayed here for one night while visiting Anchorage, and I can't say enough about the fantastic location right in the heart of downtown. The staff members were incredibly helpful and friendly...
The experience was quite mediocre. The decor feels outdated and worn. I understand that accommodations in downtown areas tend to be expensive, but for $500 a night, I expected a little more in terms of quality and comfort.
