The Crow's Nest in Anchorage is a must-visit restaurant with mixed reviews from diners. While some have experienced room issues and dated decor, others have raved about the attentive service and delicious food. The ambiance, drinks, and desserts receive high praise. Diners recommend requesting a table with a mountain view and trying the new cheese plate. The prices are on the higher side, but the exceptional service and fantastic food make it worth it for a special occasion. Overall, the restaurant offers a memorable dining experience with a stunning view of Anchorage.

Billed as Anchorage’s premier hotel, this is not a new property, but seems well-maintained. It was selected to host international conferences in years past. Staff are exceptionally helpful and accommodating. Entrances available from all adjacent streets. Several dining options, with different hours, price points.Rooms: We had a king bed and it looked small. Mattress was good and firm. Keurig coffee maker with good coffee and terry bathrobes and slippers made an otherwise “OK” room feel nicer. Plenty of charging outlets and good blackout curtains.Walkability: Easy access to 4 adjacent city streets, all with proper sidewalks. MostFood drinks: Dinner in Fletchers on arrival night was very good. Service was cheerful, but poorly paced, despite it being a slow night. Getting a table can be a problem if you arrive simultaneously with a cruise group, which overwhelms the food service operations. Pricing is high, like everywhere in Alaska seems to be. Presumably, no edibles (other than reindeer and salmon) are raised in Alaska. Expect to pay $25 for a burger fries or a basket of chicken fingers; bistro offers breakfast and lunch 5:30 AM.Noteworthy details: Several gift shops inside the property were open 7AM-10PM. Most commonly forgotten items (like tooth brush) were NOT over-priced, as is often the case. The place serves lots of cruises with an older clientele, and is well-organized to assist those with mobility issues or needing baggage assistance. There is a liquor store across the street. Downtown dining options are limited in Anchorage on the weekends and after business hours. Street parking free on weekends.

HAd dinner at the Crow's Nest in this restaurant. We had a dish I never saw before-fried olives. They were awesome-sprinkled in some bread crumbs, flash fried, throw some parmesan cheese on it with some garnish and deliciousness introduces itself. Service was great.

The service is what stood out for us. The rooms were comfortable and clean. A sweater blueberry stained on our long flight here went to the cleaners and was back the same evening in pristine condition. We were able to store some of our luggage with the bellman and retrieve it quickly when we stopped back for a one night stay a week later. A request for extra shower caps was quickly answered. Many hotels do not even stock them anymore. The hotel is two steep blocks from the coastal trail, which is a great activity if you arrive a day early for your cruise or tour. We ate at 3 venues, Fletcher's for a pizza after a late arrival, The Pantry for an early breakfast, and the Crow's Nest for a gourmet dinner. All the food was delicious and prepared to order. No buffet here! The venues can get crowded so best to go early for breakfast at the Pantry or dinner at Fletcher's. The finishing touch was when we had to leave for the airport at 3:30 AM. All the bellmen were collecting luggage from cruise passengers, so a front desk attendant took our luggage down himself and called us a cab.
