Barbie's Cafe - Anchorage

Stopped for breakfast and got excellent service and the most delicious breakfast. Crispy bacon and hash browns, yummy omelet and pancakes were fluffy! Made everyone full and happy. Environment could be updated but clean and comfortable.

I've driven by Barbie's Cafe several times during my time here in Anchorage and it's always been busy, so I was glad today when I only saw 2 cars in the lot. Let me say that I'm rating the Cafe 4 stars only because of the speed of service. Having said that, if you go in understanding you'll have to wait a bit longer for cook to order service, then you will probably love this place. I did! I had the hash, 2 eggs, and sourdoughtoast and it was awesome! Again, if you're in no rush, then this place is a 5 star diner and dive!

Best Cherry waffle (with whipped cream). Service is excellent, very comfortable relaxing place to dine.

I love her hours and it is not like the big breakfast place, everything is wonderfully made and not out of a bag!!! I had the sink Omlet with hashbrowns and sourdough toast It met the place with comfort Food Breakfast Vibes!! One thing I missed is that she's doing Reindeer Gumbo!! She starts at 2:00 to develop all this kindness, I need to make another trip to try it!!
