This is the ideal spot for a quick bite while exploring downtown Anchorage. We couldn't resist trying the Spicy Reindeer dog, topped with grilled onions and all the condiments. We decided to share one between the two of us (which is why there’s no picture—my husband couldn’t wait to dig in as soon as we got it). It was the perfect snack to satisfy our hunger while we continued shopping! View all feedback.
What Lew Hodkiewicz doesn't like about Anchor Town Dogs Food Cart:
I didn't eat the hot dog because the roasted ones are cooked on the same grill as other meats. However, the owner was very friendly and helpful. The shared grill with so much meat would be overwhelming for me. The fieldbread dog on a bun costs $6.50, which I wouldn't consider cheap compared to other vegan meal options in the area. I actually didn't eat a dog because the field roasts are cooked on the same grill as all other meat dogs. The owner was so friendly and helpful. The shared grill with lots of meat would just be too much for me. The field dog on a bungalow is $6.50. I would not call this cheap compared to other area vegan meal choices.
From many hot dog stands in downtown, this is the only one that offers vegan options, in the form of field roasts! Every place that offers field roasts is in my book a-okay! There are also some topping options. This is a good option if you want something fast and cheap and if you are part of the tourist fun of ordering a hot dog on 4. Ave wants to be in Anchorage.
Among the numerous hot dog stands in the downtown area, this is the only one that provides vegan options, featuring Field Roast products! Any establishment that offers field bread gets a thumbs-up from me! They also have a variety of toppings to choose from. This is a great choice if you're looking for a quick and affordable meal, and it allows you to partake in the tourist experience of grabbing a hot dog on 4th Avenue in Anchorage.
