The atmosphere... read more During my recent visit to Ames, I was on the lookout for a good burger place. My host recommended Wallaby's, and it certainly did not disappoint! The atmosphere felt like an upscale sports bar, adorned with plenty of Iowa State and other sports memorabilia. There were numerous TVs offering a variety of viewing options. The burger I had was excellent. I will definitely make it a point to return to this restaurant the next time I'm in Ames.

My servers name was Hallie I believe, and she was just the best! I had the creole chicken breast sandwich; per her recommendation, with their crispy salty fries. Will definitely be coming back for not only the food but the greatservice as well!

The patties in both burgers our group ordered appeared to be entirely unseasoned, lack... read more As noted by at least one previous reviewer, the entrees were quite bland. The patties in both burgers our group ordered appeared to be entirely unseasoned, lacking even a hint of salt, and my stuffed jalapeño burger didn’t taste like jalapeño at all. However, the sides we ordered, cheese curds and sweet potato fries, were excellent. I’m unlikely to return unless they improve their seasoning on the meat. Additionally, the server got my side order wrong but kindly allowed me to keep both and only charged me for the less expensive option, which was a nice gesture.

The rooftop experience was delightful, and I appreciated the shade; it allowed me to enjoy outdoor dining without being overly exposed to the summer sun.

S... read more I wasn't crazy about wallaby's. I imagined a sports bar where you and your friends can cheer on ISU when they are playing. Instead it's an upscale restaurant. Sure they do have sports memorabilia on the wall but the food and the atmosphere is a semifine dining experience. I wouldn't come here to watch ISU play but it would be a great place to take someone on a date.
