Was Matt Koeser at Macubana a mag?
I order from this place several times a week, and I always get the same dish: the Hulk Mac with extra pesto. I think they try to accommodate me, but they don’t quite realize how obsessed I am with pesto. However, on July 25th, after asking enough times, they gave me a whole cup of pesto on the side, which was exactly what I wanted. Thank you—I love you! Sincerely, your neighborhood pesto enthusiast. The experience was quite nice overall. The service was a bit sluggish during the lunch rush, though. The fried plantains were tasty for a small town in Iowa, but they couldn’t quite compare to what you’d find in a major city. On the plus side, the place was clean and had a friendly atmosphere. However, I felt the prices were slightly on the high side for the quality of the food. View all feedback.
The pull pork and chicken sandwich are delicious, and so is the mango smoothie.
Large drink menu. I felt like the food menu was limited. Several kinds of mac and cheese. Over all good experience.
A good place for a heavy meal. Service was awesome. We both got Cubans and they were good but the chicken one was better than the traditional. The highlight was the yucca fries do not sleep on those. I had a little Cubano coffee too and it was deliciousOverall it was pretty solid and I'll go back if I'm in Ames, but I wouldn't drive there special. That's not a knock, just a reality.Parking: It was early so we had our pick of spots but I could see it being a goat rope.
Mac and cheese is awesome. The gyro was okay and the fries were wonderful. Service was fair. They were out of a couple things I wanted. Nice little place.
It is not even busy took 20 minutes to get a menu and 25 more to get service great job! Terrible service! When the servers were talking about coming and taking care of our table she said I don?t care! Food is good but they need a manager who does not standaround the bar! Be better! The 4 in the photo are servers or bartenders as we are waiting to be served. Fatima I believe was hername she was a good server she was the only one working and worth working.
