Today, it's $3.89 in Ames compa... read more On August 14, 2022, I observed that the gas prices at Casey's in Ames were significantly higher than those at Casey's in Ankeny. Today, it's $3.89 in Ames compared to $3.15 in Ankeny. This seems like price gouging to me, as there's a $0.74 difference for just a 20-mile stretch along the interstate. I asked a worker filling up the tanks in Ankeny about the large price gap. He started talking about supply and demand, and the distance from the distributor. However, when I pressed him further, he simply said, "Because they can."

Casey's donuts truly are the best in town. In addition to their fantastic donuts, I often stop by for gas or a cold soda. Casey's is my go-to place for refueling, using the restroom, and just taking a break. I've been here countless times, and it's conveniently located right off Duff at the edge of town. What more could you ask for? If I recall correctly, we had a friend who worked here, or maybe it was someone my little sister liked — too many memories to sort through!

From my spot, I could see the staff working in the kitchen, and I really should have just left. I noticed a delivery guy come back, go into the kitchen, and have a conversation with a female employee. Then, he put something in her mouth that she ate—I have no idea what it was. He put on one glove and used it to handle the taco pizza toppings, but what's the point of wearing a glove if you're touching everything else with your bare hands? The whole situation felt extremely unsanitary, and I would never return.

The young man at the front... read more We ordered pizza through the app tonight, but when I went in to pick up our order, the price was different from what the app stated. The young man at the front counter was incredibly patient and worked hard to resolve the issue, asking his coworkers for help since he mentioned he was still relatively new. You would never have guessed, though, as he handled everything very professionally. He is a great asset to Casey's, along with one of the kitchen staff. I'm really impressed!
