When my grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa Johnson, were still alive, this restaurant was our family's favorite spot to eat. I have fond memories of riding in my grandparents' van, listening to Christmas music on the way there. The restaurant always seemed so warm and inviting. And the food? It truly offers the best cuisine in the city—no other restaurant could possibly compete! I'm so glad it has managed to survive t... View all feedback.
What Peter Mathys doesn't like about Village Pizzeria Of Amery:
We requested to substitute the tomato sauce on the pizza for Alfredo sauce, but we were surprised to learn that this would cost an extra $3. I personally consider that excessive, as it's simply a swap rather than an additional sauce request. Most places I’ve been to would accommodate such a change at no extra cost.

I personally consider that excessive, as it's simply a swap rather than an additional sauce request. Most places I’ve been to would accommodate such a change at no extra cost. We also ordered the chicken wings. I was initially skeptical since the website mentioned six wings for $14, which seemed pricey. However, we were pleasantly surprised to receive nearly a dozen wings instead. I'm not sure if this was a mistake in our favor or if the website is inaccurate, but we were happy to get more wings for the same price. As for the wings themselves, they were just average and a bit dry at times.
I will need to write a follow-up review with photos because I was so hungry that I completely forgot! This was my first visit, and I really enjoyed the nostalgic pizzeria atmosphere. We ordered a taco pizza, a combination pizza, and a margherita pizza, and all three were fantastic. They even serve that “good” ranch dressing! We also got a chaser and an Italian salad. Some might say, “You can’t mess up a salad,” but that’s not always the case. Fortunately, this restaurant nailed it! The dressing was delicious, and the salad was packed with a variety of ingredients, which I loved! I’m not just looking for lettuce and dressing—I want a salad with lots of different items mixed in, and this place delivered. It seems like they might have a lunch buffet as well, so I plan to return during the week to check that out and take some pictures.
I visited this restaurant with my aunt for her 60th class reunion, which had about 40 attendees. We were able to order from the menu, and I must say, they were incredibly organized in handling drink and food orders, as well as serving the meals. The food was absolutely delicious—kudos to the chefs! Additionally, the regular dining area was open, with other guests being served, and everything ran smoothly from the moment we walked in until we left. If you're in the area or passing through, I highly recommend stopping by!
To be honest I'm really disappointed. The last time we were here the pizza was great, this time, our food left a lot to be desired. The sampler basket said it was to come with ranch and pizza sauce, it did not. The cheese curds were so overdone that the majority of them didn't have cheese inside anymore. The deep fried portabellas didn't taste clean, and weren't even completely breaded. The garlic cheese toast was lackluster, would have liked to have tried it with the pizza sauce that was forgotten. My fiance got the Alfredo. That was pretty lackluster. The noodles were undercooked, and the sauce tasted like it came from a jar. Literally would have rather had the pre made dish from kwik trip. Giving it 2 stars because at least she enjoyed her salad.
One person in our group didn't get asked what she wanted to drink ,didn't get a glass of ice or straw with her drink another her meal was not up to expectations and another person in our group couldn't get what she was ordered so she didn't get anything another person in our group wasn't told that they had to remake his meal and had to ask where his meal was after everyone else got their mealsl half of us had not gotten our bill or checked on at all when I asked for our bill I was told tell the cashier what you had and they will ring it up and I asked then we don't even get to see our bill only then did she say she would print them off another waitress brought us the bills and said one of the people up here yelled at that waitress that nobody got their bills and gave us attitude when I said I just asked for our bills she said they were working short handed she was very rude to all of us I did proceed to tell her everybody is working short handed everywhere another person in our group said the attitude was unnecessary. This is only part of the horrible experience our group of 20-30 people had i know we won't be back and I think the next time we all get together we will take our business else where.
