They were cl... read more During our drive through Amarillo, I reserved 2 rooms at The Big Texan. The rooms had recently been renovated and had a lot of charm and character. They were clean and the amenities were great. I believe my children will always remember this experience. I appreciated that we only needed one door code for check-in, which made our late arrival easy. I would definitely choose to stay here again.

Stocked coffee bar w/Keurig... read more Super, super clean, awesome water pressure/shower fixture in shower and western styled in a modern and practical way! Charming room. Stocked coffee bar w/Keurig with teal blue, big ceramic “Pioneer Woman” coffee mugs. Convenient to the Big Texan restaurant where we enjoyed our supper! Mattress is in need of an update, but an overall fun place to stay for our one night in Amarillo. Thank you Big Texan Motel!

Good ameniti... read more This was our 7th stop along Route 66 and certainly a highlight so far! Fantastic western themed motel with swinging saloon doors into the bathroom. Good amenities in the room including a coffee machine which we did not have in other motels. The themed room looks so authentic but with all the mod cons. Very comfortable, clean and zero touch check-in/check-out. Rooms are accessed via electronic keypad and the code is provided by reception on arrival. We didn’t get to use the pool unfortunately but the pool area looked great with lots of sun beds. The Big Texas Steak Ranch next door is a must, I’ve never experienced anything like it! A 72oz steak challenge, great menu and a very comprehensive choice of craft beers available from two open bars with lots of seating and a also a gift shop. Walking in via the main entrance was a sensory overload although this was on the Sunday evening of Memorial weekend so very busy and 90 min wait for a table, in the bar…whoops Highly recommended and a highlight of our Route 66 road trip so far…
