Loewenburg - Altstaetten

We had a dinner for two at this typical local restaurant and were pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the Swiss offering. After a week in Switzerland eating in similar places, with very similar menus, our expectations were truly exceeded because of the interesting dishes and the quality of preparation. We had Rösti with fried eggs and Appenzeller cheese and calf's liver again with Rösti. The liver was beautifully tender and we learned from our host that it was locally sourced and very fresh. The Rösti were just right in terms of taste and crispiness. Prices were in line with similar restaurants. We definitely recommend Restaurant Löwenburg!

Large, shady beer garden and good service, but not for veggies

It's so nice that the restaurant has reopened. The food is very good, especially the soup and salad on the menu. You can relax comfortably in the shade under the linden trees. Is highly recommended!!!
