Contribute FeedbackAlton's renowned steakhouse offers a diverse dining experience, yet reviews paint a picture of inconsistency. While service often garners praise for attentiveness, the culinary offerings frequently fall short. Diners report lukewarm dishes and overly salty options, particularly in appetizers and salads. While some guests enjoy the vibrant bar side atmosphere, others bemoan the loud environment that hampers conversation. Though certain menu items, like the kids’ pizza and pepper loin, receive commendations for quality and flavor, pricing discrepancies and unannounced fees leave patrons questioning their overall value. A visit may delight, but expectations require cautious adjustment.
The service was amazing. However, the food was not worth the experience. It was our anniversary dinner; very disappointing to say the least! Nothing was hot. Then when the shrimp were replaced, they were overcooked. Made no sense to replace the mushroomsand onions for the steaks because we ate them warm. The salad dressing on the wedge salad was extremely salty. French onionsoup warm. The baked potato felt like it was sitting for a while as the cheese didn't even melt. The lobster risotto, you cantell it was stuck in the microwave because the plate was hotter than the food. The worst part, a manager NEVER came out to talkto us. Never again! This place should be shut down! I feel bad for the servers who have to deal with the incompetence of thechef!
Pet friendly patio for an early evening dinner. Excellent happy hour cocktails. Apps were perfect, and the pasta never disappoints. A new item for me was the wedge salad. Yummy
I had lasagna and my husband had pepperloin. All was well prepared and hot when it arrived and cooked exactly the way we wanted. The steak was very tender. The lasagna was delicious. We were there during happy hour and had a bonus 1/2 price bottle of wine.
We stopped in for a nice anniversary dinner. The asiago cheese dip appetizer was delicious. House salads were fresh and crisp. Their famous beef pepper loins were cooked to a perfect medium. The quality of the food is always consistent. This evening'sservice could have been more attentive and cost 1 star.
Was told this was the best steakhouse in Alton Illinois. So we gave it a shot. Children got a kids cheese pizza, and for $6 each the quantity and quality was pretty good, 5/5. Wife and grandmother got the shrimp scampi, both said it was kinda bland, but itis just a garlic butter sauce so I can see that. Shrimp was kinda light for the shrimp to pasta ratio, but enough pasta for twothat was for sure, 4/5. I had the 6oz pepper loin with loaded baked tater. Potato was great in size, pepper loin might of been alight 6oz but plenty in flavor. Ordered a med got med well. Now the reason for the only 4stars. Noticed on ticket, we were upcharged for things that were supposed to be included like strawberry vinaigrette, $4upcharge but was supposed to be included. And a 2.75% credit card fee. Kinda odd. I run my own business and don’t have to charge cc fees to cover just odd. Especiallywith no notice. Atmosphere is nice, but after 6pm seems to get rather loud, couldn’t hear the person two seats to my leftwithout them yelling. Overall, wed give it another go, just withdraw cash first.
