3rd Chute Ii - Alton

I visited this restaurant a couple of weeks ago and was impressed by its intriguing decor. I attended a Burlesque and Variety Show that night, which was absolutely fantastic! The performances change each week, and the Burlesque Show takes place once a month, with a different theme each time. We won't mention my dear friend who missed most of the evening because she was battling a persistent runny nose from a bad case of the flu. Poor thing was out for the count after taking Claritin. On the bright side, she did get to see Show Me Charlotte's dance!

I visited for the first time and tried the mac and cheese bites, which were fantastic! My friends ordered the fried gator (their first time trying it) and they said it was good, although they mentioned it tasted frozen. I also had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich; it was decent but a bit dry. Overall, it was a good experience.

This is a tidy bar, and the boat-themed decor is definitely a unique touch. However, not much was happening on the early Friday when I visited. The bartender was excellent, but I had to deduct a star for the food. It wasn't bad (the sweet potato fries were actually quite good), but the Chute burger, which came with BBQ pork, was overcooked.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. It was Taco Tuesday so that's a given and the chili was delicious. Service and food was great.

Giant Jenga with the boyfriend . Also homemade pork rinds and pulled pork nachos are the shiz!!?
