We were not disappointed the food was exce... read more Our first visit to the Buddha Castle last night . We have just moved to the area and thought we would give it a try . We were not disappointed the food was excellent in this lovely friendly family restaurant. We were welcomed and served by Sejal and a new waitress who were charming and chatted to us like we were family . Everything we were served was delicious and freshly cooked , although the restaurant was fairly quite there was a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be back as this our local Indian restaurant. If you are in or around Altea La Vella you must visit . Booking is advised as it is only a small restaurant, but it is a little gem . Thank you so much for a wonderful evening. Tim and Tim

After... read more We visited based on reviews expecting good things. We were a table of 4 adults and 5 year old and when we arrived there were only 2 other tables occupied. After over an hour and 20 min we still hadn’t had any food apart from half a poppadom each. As the place got busier you could tell more and more people were becoming agitated with the amount of time it was taking to get food. Once it finally started to arrive it all came separately so although it was in front of us we could really start as the would bring out the main dish but we had no rice. The food was good but it certainly didn’t warrant the reviews I read here. Between us we had bhoonas, curry, butter chicken and everyone agreed they had tasted better. My 5 year old daughter ordered omelette from the menu and was served with a fried egg (this may have been a menu mistranslation) overall very disappointing visit. Even if a member of staff had made an effort to come to the table an say sorry it’s taking so long, we are having issues etc etc this may have made a difference but feel the service was below standard also.
