Reviews summary
Nestled beside a laundromat in Alpine, this charming coffee shop roasts locally and serves boldly flavored coffee alongside inventive drinks, teas, fresh juices and housemade ice cream and shakes. Friendly, knowledgeable baristas offer recommendations (try the Mexican mocha) and the shaded outdoor seating and dog-friendly vibe make it a relaxed morning or afternoon hangout. Expect occasional waits during busy times and some variability in strength/temperature late in the evening. Limited food—just pastries and granola—so come for drinks and atmosphere rather than a full meal.

The nitro coffee here is incredibly delicious! I tried one vanilla and one mocha, and both were fantastic. The service was very friendly, and the staff went above and beyond to help me since I'm new to the area. The atmosphere is lovely, with a beautiful and breezy patio. I will definitely be coming back! Thank you for the warm hospitality! View all feedback.
What Robert S dislikes about Plaine:
If 2nd wave coffee is your thing, then you'll be happy. If you prefer medium/light roasted single origins and espresso shots pulled at a predetermined ratio or micro foam (not the classic 3in of foam) for your cap or latte, then this isn't the place for you. The coffee is roasted locally, tho it's super roasty and burnt, but that's not on the shop, more on the roaster's old school style. The staff are nice. The ice c... View all feedback.

Had to do a couple loads of laundry after breakfast and headed over to Plaine. After putting our clothes in the washer, we headed thru the door to the coffee shop and ordered an Americano and an iced tea. Prices were good and we enjoyed our drinks while we sat inside reading while waiting for the laundry. They also have ice cream with interesting flavors but we didn't get to try any of it.
I've been on the road through West Texas for about a week and this is the first place where I have had an espresso drink was so well made. The shop and outdoor seating are cute and comfortable and the baristas are friendly and efficient. I'd go everyday if I lived here!
Charming little café located right in the heart of town. While the indoor seating is somewhat limited, there are outdoor tables available for nice weather. I really enjoyed my hot and delicious chai latte, and my husband loved his Mexican mocha as well. Unlike some other coffee spots in town that close in the morning, this place stays open until 8 p.m., which is perfect for those evenings when you're craving a warm drink. I highly recommend it if you're wandering around Alpine and in need of coffee or tea. They also offer a selection of muffins and pastries.
I really loved the atmosphere! I asked for recommendations, and I went with the Mexican mocha; it was fantastic. It wasn't overly sweet, which I really appreciated.

Cool coffee shop in Alpine. They have freshly roasted coffee and several drink options. They also have freshly made juices and several unique hot chocolate or flavored latte options. They have homemade ice cream and shakes. They don't have food other than a few pastries or granola. There's several places to sit inside and especially outside. I'd recommend for a morning coffee or afternoon spot for coffee and hang out.
Enjoyed a nice lot latte from this little coffee shop. It was pretty busy for a Sunday morning with only one girl working so there was a wait. She was doing an awesome job keeping up. I suggest ordering through them online if you don't want to wait but the coffee was worth it.
Lots of friendly folks stop here, met a older man who likes to travel across Texas in his corolla and sleep in abandoned buildings. It sounds strange explaining but have never met a man more down to earth, he let us copy his paper maps that he’s being using since the 80s with his marks of the stops he finds most beautiful to see.
Very nice experience overall. I visited on a Sunday for some lattes, and they were excellent. However, when I stopped by on a Monday night, the coffee wasn't as strong as I preferred, and it wasn't quite hot enough either. This might have been due to the fact that it was an hour before closing time.
I discovered a charming little coffee shop beside a laundromat. Although I don't drink coffee, they offer an excellent selection of teas. There are tables outside with a canopy for shade, and the menu is creatively designed with Scrabble tiles. I absolutely love it! The girl who served me was incredibly friendly. During my 45-day road trip, I had a fleeting thought about asking if she wanted to escape with me. I know that might sound a bit odd, but it truly wasn’t meant that way! Some people just have a way of leaving a lasting impression, which is something I’ve learned throughout this journey.
