Was Ross Shanahan at Alpine Oriental Express a mag?
It was honestly pretty darn good. The coconut shrimp was awesome. The lomein was pretty good too. We came in kind of late and we where worried that we wouldn't get fresh food and instead we would get the left overs, but that very much was not the case. There was a very nice young man who asked if we wanted anything specific and happily had it made fresh. He did this with the coconut shrimp multiple times and with the... View all feedback.
Inside, the restaurant is small but clean, featuring an old blue buffet table on one side, a small area for desserts and sushi, and a table stocked with plates, utensils, and rice cookers. Customers can either enjoy the buffet or select items from a limited menu. We placed our drink orders with a lovely young lady and opted for the buffet. The selection included potstickers, soups, egg rolls, wontons, chicken with broccoli, Hong Kong chicken, sesame chicken, beef with vegetables, mushroom chicken, sweet and sour chicken, green beans, BBQ chicken balls, and coconut shrimp, along with a variety of fresh fruits and desserts. Everything was flavorful and freshly prepared. It seems that the young chef is very involved in the operation, as he frequently replenishes the buffet dishes in small batches, ensuring that the food is always fresh. While we might have to wait a few minutes for certain items to be restocked, like the duck, it was well worth it. We genuinely didn't find anything that wasn't delicious. Overall, we highly recommend this spot, as it offers great value at just $11.00 per person. For four adult buffets and four iced teas, our total came to $51.00 before tip—although a tip is not required.
A hidden gem in the desert! We discovered this restaurant just outside of town and are so glad we did. I highly recommend the Pu-Pu Platter as an appetizer. The shrimp and fried potstickers were also excellent additions to our appetizer selection. For our main courses, we ordered orange chicken, sesame chicken, and cashew shrimp. Each dish was generous in portion and delicious. To find it, simply walk from the city past the Hampton Inn, and keep an eye out on the left. Be sure to check the exterior picture so you don’t overlook this fantastic little restaurant!
Do NOT judge a book by it’s cover!! Food was DELICIOUS and served HOT and FRESH! You will regret not eating here! Friendly staff as well and plenty of tables for dine in. Food was so good we ordered more plates to go to enjoy at a later time.
This is a lovely restaurant with delicious dishes and generous portions. We enjoyed the vegetable joy and sesame chicken.
