What was first the cabin or the view tower? I assume that it was the tower and because of the challenge of climbing up and down, one naturally needed a place where to strengthen and refresh. What are you doing? They build a cottage next to the tower, a reasonable gastronomy, manage them with nice staff and advertise with friends, riders and walkers with their services and simple but good products home cooking only!!! I had a delicious hot bread and a cool common wheat for 4.90 euros. As simple as the example Alpenroder Hütte shows. I was there only last Saturday, but everything was, as I mentioned, so I hope this was not a day trip, but that the cabin is generally well visited. When I visit a restaurant, even if it's more like a snack, I usually do it for a reason. I'm hungry and I want this to be quiet. I came with my husband and was a little surprised at the good site, which is contrary to the old-fashioned interior. Maybe we're a little pampered, but the Alpenroder Hütte reminded us of a device. This can of course have its charm, but now I come to the bottom of my two star rating: The food is really not good. Since we were on the way three, we had to taste three dishes. All three did not match our taste. You could have done a little more effort - a potato salad is so easy! Also in larger amounts. You do not have to take the variant of the 100 L buckets from the large market. If something is explained as an Italian salad, it is not enough to put five salad leaves on the floor of a soup plate and then to sprinkle ham, cheese and tuna in large amounts and to garnish all this with a lot of mayonnaise. In this style also the other dishes were held. The stars I still forgive are for the simple and beautiful operation and for the fact that it is actually just a snack and not a restaurant. Otherwise I'll take a bow around the Alpenroder Hütte.

The location is beautiful, eating delicious. Unfortunately, you can forget the service. I was there twice, had to wait 30 minutes for a Frikadelle, today we had to call a service. It's not fun.

Set Biker welcomed us to take the way to Alpenrod, great weather, beautiful view from the tower, friendly bikers. Unfortunately we wanted to drink and eat. And that made the mood worse. It took a good 5 minutes with moderate guest occupancy until a disgusting operation came. As part of the beverage order, a food order was not possible as soon as the operation turned around and was gone. Then the lady was lost. After a while I am on the view tower, came back and saw half empty glasses. At some point we were lucky and the order was received wordless. The sausage salad was pale or salty and garnished with a thin bread. The ham bread was okay. The available knife modest. We wouldn't have a choice. That was manifold. The prices were moderate: Cola 2EUR, Pils 2 EUR, wheat 3,10EUR and pig carving 8,90EUR. Musically we were entertained with live music by two Bayers. Everything in all would have been more in it. The third star is for the originality of the place and the beautiful lady behind the vault.
