This was the authentic Spanish dining experience every traveler should strive for! The potatoes really were to die for and the friendly bar man helped us with the menu since neither of us speak any Spanish. It 'll take just about 10 minutes to stand at the bar, have a beer, and eat amazing potatoes so do not pass this opportunity by!

The food is wonderf... read more Bar Bonillo is one of the best bars I have ever been to. The proprietor is incredibly friendly and made me feel at home from my first visit. The food is wonderful, the beer first class and the local wine was a delight. There are no stools or chairs, so that might be a consideration for some travellers. With about 10 people present, the bar is pretty much full, but that only adds to the intimate atmosphere. If you visit Almeria and you don't visit Bar Bonillo, you are missing out on a treat.
