If you're in the mood for Tofu, that's the point! You have combos where you can get a small tofu stew protein. Recommend the seafood tofu stew! It was tasteful with good amounts of shrimp and shells. The Boggi was disappointing. It was a bit dry and sweeter than salty. Next time I would try the spicy pig or pig belly. The Kimchi pancake was ugly and delicious! What Kathleen O'Connor doesn't like about Kaju Korean Cuisine — Allston:
I was excited to try out this restaurant after seeing long lines outside at nighttime, but was sorely disappointed in my experience at an off peak lunch hour. The banchan (pictured here) was incredibly basic. Despite asking the waitstaff twice for a refill on the banchan, none was provided. I visited this restaurant for the first time, and it was fantastic. I ordered the seafood soup combo along with beef bulgogi and a seafood pancake. The portions were generous, and the flavors were outstanding. I'll definitely be returning!
Absolutely delicious! I can't wait to return with my friends and family. This restaurant truly focuses on the food; it's that amazing!
The service was exceptional, with a friendly and attentive staff. The tofu soup is outstanding. Both the pork belly and the kimchi pancake were excellent, but the real highlight was the kimchi and beef tofu soup.
There’s nothing like walking by a place to get the vibe of it. Kaju reeks of truth. A glimpse through the window shows a cart loaded with bubbling stone pots arriving at a table already loaded with banchan and Korean pancakes, busy even before the evening peak. This place is GREAT. Unprepossessing, humble, diversely but strictly Korean, with a very high quality-per-dollar ratio. It’s been voted Best in Boston more than once. Go !
Always a good experience at Kaju (formerly called Kaju Tofu House)! They hvae a wide variety of Korean apps, soups, noodle and rice dishes, and a BBQ choices. Their soups are a must--absolutely wonderful! Limited seating and parking can be tough in the area, but it is worth it for this excellent spot a bit off the beaten path in Allston's Koreantown.
