On a short break for four days whilst we did not stay at the Trout Hotel we ate there every day. Special menu changed daily and Sunday we both had the guinea fowl this was excellent compliment to the chef and a big thank you to the front of house team who looked after us so well. View all feedback.
What adamb123nn65 doesn't like about The Terrace Bistro:
Just because this is part of The Trout Hotel doesn't mean it's any good... Booked and pre-ordered for a family birthday which didn't seem to matter as it took just less than 1 hour for food to be served! Food itself was average at best, very greasy and lacking of flavour and presentation. Overall, disappointed and expected better. View all feedback.

The evening was fab from start to finish. The table setting was great as there was 13 of us. We did preorder but the service of the food was really quick. The girls who served us were smiling and attentive , especially Aimee. Food was lovely from burgers to steaks. Definitely recommend the terrace bistro as a place to eat. It is part of the Trout Hotel. Shazzas party was enjoyed by all and noone was rushing us to leave. To finish off lovely coffee with shortbread yum One mention for waiter Stephen and his infectious laugh
I never review but sorry to do this. We went for a meal (a big-ish group) around 2 weeks ago and the food was awful. We ordered the Sunday dinner and it was all cheap ingredients. Possibly the worst food I’ve ever eaten, none of it was home made. The portions were terrible too.. the puddings were like microwave ones you can buy from Asda yourself. Constantly found that no one checked the table for ages we were in there for about 35 mins before we even got our order taken. The staff were friendly when they checked, I just feel like it’s more a case of bad management than the staff being lazy or absent. Just terribly let down by the quality of food. I know it’s not exactly expensive but Christ, if you don’t want any of the food to be home made then this is your place. Honestly it was awful, I would never go back. Could of visited a cheap cafe and had better food. Defiantly would not think of for how beautiful the surroundings are.
The food nice, however service really let it down. Took a long time to get any type of order (about 1 hour for drinks) and had to fight to get attention of service personnel for things like bill. Really let the place down
We had a wonderful time at The Terrace Bistro in Stockton Heath. We were celebrating our Wedding Anniversary which so happened to be during the Eat Out To Help Out Scheme but we wholeheartedly felt that we wouldn’t have any qualms about paying full price for the quality of Food and Service we received. It was lovely to chat to Marc and his team, who made us all feel so welcome. Eating Out can be challenging for us due to me working long hours during the day and my husband working nights. My husband is also Deaf and suffers with chronic Tinnitus which can make going to restaurants very overwhelming. He felt both comfortable and confident here and has already said he’d love to return which is very unusual for him. You have go to this absolutely fantastic place.
