My wife and I took a trip to Lowther Castle and Gardens with our in-laws, and after experiencing terrible weather, we decided to drive to Cockermouth to indulge... read more My wife and I took a trip to Lowther Castle and Gardens with our in-laws, and after experiencing terrible weather, we decided to drive to Cockermouth to indulge in the excellent food at Fredricks, a restaurant we have frequented many times before. We began with the seafood platter selection along with a side of chips for our child. The platter was a fantastic choice for seafood lovers! We then ordered some delicious main dishes, enough to feed 3 adults and 2 children (including a kid's meal of pizza and chips). It was a lovely meal to end the evening. We will definitely return when we are in the area again.

We arrived a bit early so sat at the bar and had a f... read more We were apprehensive about dining here after reading mixed reviews but we could not fault any of our meals. We arrived a bit early so sat at the bar and had a few of the cocktails off the menu, there are plenty to choose from! We were seated in the back dining area which was very nice. We all had a starter and main and couldn’t fault anything, we really enjoyed all the food. There wasn’t a long wait for the food either and the waiting staff were really helpful and attentive. If we ever came back to Cockermouth we would definitely eat here!
