Description
**Restaurant Review: Foo Joy**
Foo Joy has garnered mixed reviews, reflecting a broad spectrum of dining experiences. While some patrons appreciate the budget-friendly nature and generous portions of the menu, others express disappointment in the food's freshness and flavor. Frequent complaints highlight dry, overcooked proteins and lackluster flavor in several dishes, including dumplings and rice. However, enthusiasts rave about specific items like egg foo young and fried pineapple when the food is fresh. Although takeout service is efficient, many diners seem reluctant to return due to inconsistent quality. Ultimately, Foo Joy may suit those seeking variety on a budget, but caution is advised.

I'm sorry to hear that this restaurant has closed. It was really convenient for me since it's close to my workplace, and it was the only Chinese restaurant I found that made Hunan chicken with a good amount of spice.
Due to the pandemic, the restaurant only offers takeout, but the service is quick and the food is outstanding. While a few dishes could be improved—like the standard dumplings, which tend to be too doughy—there are plenty of options to choose from. The dishes are generous in their main ingredients (for instance, you’ll find plenty of pork in the pork dishes and ample chicken in the chicken dishes), which is a refreshing change from the usual situation of having just a couple of small pieces of meat drowned in a mound of vegetables.
This is a fantastic budget-friendly Asian restaurant that offers a diverse menu. They typically provide quick delivery, and when the food is fresh, it’s incredibly tasty. The only reason I can’t give it a five-star rating is that my husband hasn't found anything he enjoys on the menu. However, they serve the best egg foo young I’ve ever had, and I also really love the fried pineapple.
Very disappointed in our take-out order tonight. Moo shu pork had thick slices of pork that were dry and hard. The beef and broccoli had no flavor. The chicken steamed dumplings had no flavor and looked like the filling was ground chicken only. Shrimp and scallops in white sauce with vegetables had very little seafood..not going back.
This large, affordable Asian restaurant offers a variety of dishes. They usually provide prompt delivery, and when the food is fresh, it tastes fantastic. The only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is that my partner hasn’t found anything he enjoys from the menu. However, I have to say they serve the best egg foo young I've ever tried, and I absolutely love their fried pineapple!
