Great neighborhood restaurant. Everyone that works there is very friendly and organized. The wait on busy Sunday morning is minimal if any. They do a great job keeping everything moving smoothly. View all feedback.
What Eashan S dislikes about Short Stacks:
Here’s what was good: the skillet, potatoes, omelets, parfait, were very good. Bad: the waffles and pancakes were garbage. I’d expect better pancakes from a place called “Short Stacks”. The coffee was also nasty. Cranberry juice was gross. You should just have Ocean Spray instead. Also, they need to figure out a solution to the cold blast of air every time the front door opens. I went to eat breakfast and everything was wonderful and friendly service. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian omelet. Kid-friendliness: They help with the menu.
Wheelchair accessibility: Dang it! I wasted time trying to get into Short Stacks. Although I was told they had a ramp in front of the restaurant to enter on in, there’s NO CHANCE of trying to navigate the old doors and tight turning entry area. That’s if you can get over an uneven step that’s too high up for a wheelchair to be tilted over… After getting out of my chair and ‘carried’ inside to a table near the entry area. I found out the restroom was in the back and I could see there was NO path available using a wheelchair. You can remove the wheelchair accessible standing that you obliviously appointed to your restaurant. You’re restaurant IS NOT accessible. I had to get help leaving without trying the menu. My family was to gather here and we cancelled! Time wasting when time is everything now.
Nice little diner in the heart of Algonquin. Parking: Parking on 31 can be busy.
