Exceptional food. Friendly, efficient staff. If you're lucky, Chef Chris will stop by your table. ”Chef’s Choice” is especially fun. The Chef selects 3 to 4 main entrees for your meal. Small venue. Delicious cocktails (we loved the Manhattan). Clean bathroom. View all feedback.
What Kelly M Page doesn't like about Son Of Skaliwags:
Went on a Saturday night when they first opened. Its been about 10 years since last time there. Son is now the chef, but wasn't there that night. Super friendly staff. Very limited seating. Menu on the chalk board. Not all had prices listed. We got the crispy shrimp appetizer $18) which was amazing. Husband got a steak $42), which he was very pleased with. I ordered lobster ravioli price not listed on the board). It... View all feedback.
The bartender really made the place along with the excellent food. The fryer was down and it was our last night in town so we went for sautéed appetizers. Really really tasty ! Son was not cooking that night, however his chef's were great. I hate kale and the salad alongside our appetizers was fantastic.(kale) Then too die for desert...lemon blueberry cake (2 story) with Italian cream cheese I believe. I own a salon in Illinois and think I could fill a bus with clients and eat there ..!!

Was hoping to have leftovers, but only got 6 raviolis, which was very disappointing. It did come with a slice of flat bread and a couple asparagus spears. Felt that it should have been an appetizer not an entree.
We found Son of Skaliwags on Friday night and had an amazing experience. So when we were deciding what to do for Saturday night, we thought why not go again?! It was just as great. Marshall greeted us upon arrival with a welcome back . Loved that! We ordered drinks and waited for our table. We only waited about 15 minutes. When we were seated, Melissa was our waitress and she was awesome. She asked about our drink refills, how to split our bill, and when our food arrived, asked how it was as well. She was friendly, attentive and really built a connection. We will definitely be back when we visit the peninsula again.
You would never guess what a treasure this place is! The menu is limited mostly seafood and beef for mains, most served with the same sides and everything is outstanding. The chef came out and chatted with us a bit too. A unique dining experience experience check it out!
Absolutely love this place! Food is great, Marshall is great, staff is great! My #1 choice when my hubby asks if we want to go out for dinner! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
