A 5-Star Plus Experience at La Saletta, Alghero Our evening at La Saletta was nothing short of remarkable. We chose the tasting menus Memoria and Radici, each offering a thoughtful journey through flavors, textures, and culinary innovation. While both menus demonstrated exceptional creativity, Memoria stood out with its depth and execution—an experience simply incomparable. From our perfectly placed table overlooking the kitchen, we enjoyed a theatrical view of the chefs at work, adding an extra layer of immersion to the evening. The dishes themselves were artful, showcasing elements of spherification and a tasteful fusion between modern techniques and traditional roots. Each plate brought surprise and delight, meticulously paired with an intriguing bottle of local red wine that complemented both the regular and vegetarian courses seamlessly. The hospitality was top-tier. Staff introduced every dish with genuine passion and professionalism—infused with a wonderful sense of humor that made us feel entirely at ease. A special mention must be made for the welcome extended to our dog Toffee, who was treated with care and warmth from the moment we arrived. As the evening came to a close, the chef’s warm wave goodbye was the cherry on top of an unforgettable dining experience. La Saletta isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a memory-maker. Highly recommended. Our table had mixed reviews so the rating is an average between my boyfriend’s 4.5 and my 3.5 We had the “Memoria” menu with a wine pairing. I personally found the starters and desserts very good, but the mains were somewhat disappointing, the fish and chicken ravioli in particular. The wine pairing was interesting, however it included one too many biodynamic wines for my taste, two of which we found to be pretty sour. The interior is nicely decorated and the staff is nice and attentive, so I think it is still a good option for a fine dining experience in Alghero, but you can probably get better value for money elsewhere if you value taste above all else. One of the best meals I've ever had. (Including the best Rosé I've ever tasted. Smart, compelling inventive dishes with a real sense of surprise and wonder. Celery Sorbet? A fresh Basil juice/sauce? Brilliant work. We were a tricky table, a coeliac who can't eat eggs and someone who doesn't eat fish, with one person ordering the default meal. They engaged enthusiastically to ensure everyone had a perfect experience. An absolute masterpiece, I've been lucky enough to eat in two Michelin star restaurants in the last month. This was better than either. Bravo! Price per person: €100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
