Hummingbird - Alexandria

Had a simple meal in the bar when I was in the store and at the Indigo Hotel. Had a dirty vodka martini and a Caesar salad and later a glass of wine. Bar filled later and the salad was great with juicy good chicken and the bartender was very friendly, and let me take what was left to finish in my room. Nice people, nice restaurant and hotel.

Stopped On a day for lunch on the water and was not disappointed. Both the view was great, the weather was good and the food fantastic! I took the double cheeseburger with comeback sauce and it was to die. Perfectly cooked, simply greasy enough, crisp bacon, recommend to stop here when in town.

We came to Hummingbird for Alexandria Restaurant Week, but ended with ordering from their regular menu. Our table over the Potomac River, our waiter Vlad was excellent, and the atmosphere of the place was really nice. The Heirloom tomato salad as an appetizer was excellent (the peaches! . My vegetarian fiancée loved the Ratatouille (with one side of Pasta! for their meal and I went with the Spanish Mussels with shrimp that were delicious. For dessert we filled it with the Hummingbird Cake, the pineapple, honey, banana, lemon and generally tastes amazing. Very recommended and we come back!

The food was absolutely delicious! Catch of the day was wonderful, service was friendly and the view was amazing. It's a quite river-view restaurant and we were quite happy when we left!

Based on a previous experience at Hummingbird, we booked a brunch party of 14 for a Saturday afternoon. We were seated in a shaded area outside (which is such a lovely space) and attended by Vlad. The atmosphere, food, and drinks were all excellent, but by far the star of the show was Vlad. He was friendly, engaging, and managed to keep 14 orders and multiple tickets organized. He even took a group photo for us! It was a fantastic experience!
