I was really impressed when I finally got around to visiting this new and updated version of the Retro Cafe. Being a long-time customer of the original, I had put off visiting the new one - what a mistake! The range of food was impressive, catering to children as well as adults with a variety of diet options - even me, a raw vegan who was pleased to be able to get something other than a plain green salad! Came with 2 kids after wandering through the fantastic museum and library. The lady serving took a full 5 minutes to take a simple order and needed to redo it 3 times. When 20 minutes later we finally got food, one order had chips instead of salad, the one without onion had onion and the drinks were missing. So much potential- great space, great view- but utterly disappointing service View all feedback.
Not many outdoor areas to eat in Albury. Retro cafe being in the middle of the Arts precinct delivers a restful place to sip on coffee. Great staff with great coffee
My friends and I came here while seeking shelter from the rain, the women working were very inviting and even offered us a few towels. the food was quite good and came in a timely manner. the seating is fun and comfortable, we felt very welcome the whole time and never felt rushed, the gaming system was fun and the piano was hidden away and when someone played it, the sound wasn't too loud through the rest of the restaurant. over all turned a boring, wet day into a very fun one
Cheerful and friendly staff, comfy couches, great location, good coffee. We rested there after visiting the Gallery and the Library Museum.
Had been wanting to try this place for a very long time so me and my partner decided to go there for lunch today So we went there for lunch and was told by the girl that served me there would be “a small surcharge” that “the banks would charge us anyway” to use a savings account there which later on when checking my account found that I had been charged an absurd amount of $5 which was 25% of the total order I am beyond shocked and will defiantly not be recommending this place at all as apart from the girl serving me there was absolutely no signs on the counter to make us aware of this Not only were we charged for using a savings account but it took over 20 minutes for a bowl of wedges and a kids meal... defiantly are much better quality places to eat in Albury
So much to see and do here in this funky retro cafe. the day we visited there were free activities outside for the kids. they also have a great childrens menu at excellent prices. The cafe is part of MAMA.
