Staying overnight at Quest Albury in Kiewa Street Q Manhattans Restaurant & Bar was our choice for breakfast. Highly recommend starting your day off from hear as was fantastic. Staff very attentive & service was quick. The sun shining in made the morning! While I...More
I've had lunch at Manhattans about five times in about as many years when invited out by friends. I'd never actually suggest this venue if it were my choice. The menu has remained pretty much the same, with very few changes in that time. On my last visit I was somewhat surprised to see a new fettuccini dish on the menu so I ordered that. It was just as disappointing as any other dish I have eaten there. It was almost like a soup that lacked any substantial flavour. Albury is very much a town where word-of-mouth can make or break a business and I do believe that this business is staying afloat due to the night bar section and the fact that it is situated under the Quest apartments where people from out of town might find it convenient to eat there. For those people staying in the Quest Apartments, I'd suggest a short stroll to an alternative restaurant would be a much more rewarding experience.
I had the fortune of staying at Quest Hotel Kiewa st Albury in July 2017. On checkin I was shown a list of venues that charge back to my room. After settling I. I headed to the closest restaurant being Manhattans. It was quite late and I didn't really expect he restaurant to be open I thought I might have to settle on some average bar food. What a surprise the friendly bartender when asked recommended The chefs special chicken , well I cannot explain how good this simple meal tastes light chicken cooked to a lovely crisp texture I won't go into the finer detail other than to say I have had this twice - it was simply that good. One lunchtime I dropped in for lunch and ordered a hamburger. Hand cut chips cooked to perfection and a burger which combined layers beautifully flavoured each contrasting the other quite well. Breakfast menu one morning I chose bacon and eggs with poached eggs a lovely addition was a nicely portioned slice of sour dough bread a nice reasonably sized breakfast not enough to weigh you down but a good start to whatever you are planning for the day. I have just returned from lunch where I ordered the Vietnamese salad with chicken breast. I must say this was a lovely clean crisp salad with beautiful garnish and nuts. The size was ample enough for a very fillling lunch or in my case chef packaged up my uneaten half at my request and will make an equally tasty evening meal in my room upstairs. Now let me talk about the staff. Today was the first time I had a chance to speak with Emma the co owner who with her husband Michael try to make their little team as much of a family as they are a integral part of the restaurant. It shows the friendliness, courtesy and a smile on their faces made me feel welcome and satisfied and happy when I left. Dining at Manhattans was truly one of the highlights of my week in Albury and I recommend it to you.
We had dinner at the Manhattan last night a small problem with the booking but got fix in having to wait 10 minutes. ( no big event ) The place is split into a Tapas bar on one side and the Restaurant we went to the restaurant I must say the staff were EXCELLENT coming back time after time making sure everything was ok. The atmosphere was kinky with the large black fans spinning round, now the meals Barramundi, Steak, and Chicken were full of flavour & large to finish off we share the ice cream with popcorn & caramel source this was a excellent dining experience not cheap but worth every penny.
Went to Albury for a work trip and staying at the quest, we saw Happy Hour was on so decided to try Q Manhattans. BEST DECISION EVEROver the 4 days we eat there 5 times. 2 Dinners, 1 Lunch, 2 Brekky Brekky was ok, not bad but nothing to rave about. Lunch was a beautiful Salt and Pepper Calamari and Salad beautiful. But dinner is what I rave about, 2 nights for 2 people with meals of Beef and Reef, Barramandi, Nachos, and I dont even remember what else, but nothing could be faulted but all got out shadowed by the Cocktails. With out a doubt the best Bar Tender and Mixologist I have ever come across. Not only was there drinks ordered off the menu, but when asking if he could do a Pina Colida is said of course, and it was the best Pina Colida I have ever had and then asking him to surprise us and got up the most beautiful Caramelized Pineapple Cocktail, it was the nicest cocktail I have ever had. So Fruit Tingles, Manhattans, various other mixes of flavors by just being able to tell the bar what you like. And all very very well priced. So Brekky is a take or leave, Lunch is a lovely well priced way to go but for Dinner and Drinks Q Manhattan can not be passed up. For what you get I would gladly suggest it to anyone, and I think for what you can order it is very well priced. But you must have a cocktail made by Joel, and if you dont know what you want ask him to surprise you. You wont be disappointed.
