We had breakfast here twice. Every experience was exactly what I would expect when eating. No waiting for seating, attentive friendly servers, a diverse menu with appealing articles, high-quality food served quickly and prices on point. With beer and Mimosas on the menu, this is an excellent breakfast / lunch café. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Daily Grind:
let me begin by saying I feel like albuquerque really lacks until vegan breakfast burritos go. they can get burritos seemingly everywhere, but the pickings for vegan burritos are slim. the daily grind has a vegan breakfast burrito on its menu with kartoffels, mushrooms, squash, black buds and green chile. I added to my avocado. they can order it drunk or hand-held. I was handling. it wasn't crazy. the kartoffels were... View all feedback.
I have been here a few times since my first visit. Overall, the food quality and the ambiance of the place deserve high marks. Sometimes, however, service lags a bit. Today, for example, I went alone for a quick brekkie. I seated myself, (was confused about the basket with utensils by the door) grabbed utensils, and took a seat. The greeter came with water and a menu. I told him I knew what I wanted so he took my order, while explaining he was the greeter not a server. I waited about 10 minutes for my plate of food. The eggs were warm not hot, the potatoes were a bit undercooked and not hot, the 2 pieces of bacon were done, but not hot. The english muffin you know it was not hot. I don 't know if my food sat for a bit, but unfortunately, it left me wondering why I bothered to have breakfast out this morning. Also, I have to admit, I don 't like their potatoes all that much. I prefer the standard shredded potato patties. My favorite place to have them (and breakfast altogether) is at the Sandia Golf Cafe.
Ask to sit in Elijah's section he'll give you great service. Unfortunately we were sat in a different section, and this was the worst experience for us yet. Our server, Gibbon, was slow from the get go. The host, Matt, brought our drinks and then it took about 15 20 minutes for Gibbon to take our order. We asked for two drip coffees and ended up going to the counter to ask abo it them. When he dropped them off he said it took a while because the internet was down. We had to scratch our heads because it doesn't require internet to pour drip coffee. It took about 30 mins for an order of French toast and Huevos ranchos to arrive at the table but we were missing our sausage for my Huevos and my son's side of fruit. It came out to us eventually and the sausage seemed old and dry. It took us another ten to 15 mins to get our check. There was no manager present or at least it didn't look like it and that was very upsetting. We even noticed a few other guests sit down and then leave without getting service because no one acknowledged them. If you make it there, ask to sit in Elijah's section. He was the only server we saw hustling through the breakfast rush. We watched him take care of his guests and get people fed and out the door to life their lives. I had to ask him for his name so we could come back and ask for him. The Daily Grind used to be a great place for solid food and friendly service but it's gone downhill. Hopefully management will step up and get it back on track.
We haven't been to Daily Grind in many years. We just don't get over here often. The food was good, flavorful and served hot. I really like their menu. They have unique combinations. The cafe has a lot of art on the wall and is very open and airy with indoor and outdoor seating. Service was good. Our server was very busy so it took a little longer for drink refills. He was very nice and friendly. Bathrooms are clean too. Definitely recommend them but be patient. They are definitely popular. I was a little disappointed their limited baked goods. In the past (like 5+ years ago) they had this Carmel cake that was amazing!
All good. Fresh. Quiet. Friendly. Great outdoor area. We'll be regulars. How many characters are 85!?
Another beautiful fall day in central New Mexico finds the boys from the VA creative writing group at another local favorite. Join Tom Neiman and a few of his besties, enjoying themselves with various food orders. It is worth visiting this fine establishment. Watch the trailing YouTube video link to see what we ate and raved about. An interesting atmosphere and excellent service are complemented by the Daily Grind's ample parking lot. Try them you won't regret it. [hidden link]
