What User doesn't like about The Crown Room:
However, the food was disappointing. The steak was overcooked and lacked consistency, while the soup was so overly salty it was nearly inedible. The potatoes tasted like they came straight from a box, and the vegetables were overcooked, bland, and underseasoned. I would recommend holding off on visiting until there is a change in the kitchen staff. View all feedback.
However, the food was disappointing. The steak was overcooked and inconsistently prepared. The soup was so salty it was nearly inedible. The potatoes clearly came from a box, and the vegetables were overcooked, bland, and lacking seasoning. In summary, I would recommend waiting for a new chef to be hired before you consider visiting.
I recommend waiting until they hire a chef before dining here. The space and atmosphere are beautiful, and the service is wonderful. However, the food was a letdown. The French onion soup was overly salty, had an odd consistency, and the whole baguette placed on top was rock-hard. The steaks were poorly prepared with inconsistent cooking—some were medium, some medium-well, and some medium-rare on the same tough, bland cut of meat. The au poivre sauce was just shallots, cream, and Dijon, which is not how it should be made. The asparagus was simply buttered with a lot of pepper, and the truffle mashed potatoes were missing the truffle flavor, tasted instant, and were overly dense. Overall, it was very disappointing and falsely advertised as elegant fine dining.
This restaurant is truly a hidden gem! From the beginning with the Savanna Salad, to the main course featuring Lobster Ravioli and Scallops, and finishing off with the delightful Bananas Foster prepared right at your table, you won’t be let down. The waitstaff is attentive and polite. Overall, it’s a fantastic dining experience!
The place is beautiful as for the service it was horrible I was taken for a dinner date with my boyfriend we waited 40min to be sat after we asked the bartender to seat us and another couple we waited almost 30 min for menus we got our food a pre set menuand the couple next to us waited the same time as we had once the food came out I noticed something off with my beer I lookedinside and someone had put some white powder Could have been salt suger or God know what else this has been the second time Ihad a bad experience here I don't recommend. We shouldn't be spending so much on a dinner service for imature people to messwith the food we are paying to eat .
The Crown Room is something of an anomaly. It wants to recreate the old school glamour of fine dining in a casino however when the casino in question is mostly penny slots in a horse racetrack located at the edge of a part of town commonly referred to as The War Zone then you're more likely to share a restroom with someone with face tattoos rather than someone from the Rat Pack. The actual restaurant itself is also a mix of contradictions. On most visits the food has been top-notch and served toperfection. Other times I've received over fried calamari burnt to a crisp. My last visit was similar with excellent foodthough served with chipped plates, extremely water spotted wine glasses and an odd refusal to offer new forks between courseswith an overwhelmed wait staff. Though I suppose as long as people are willing to gamble then The Crown Room will be subsidizedby their losses and stick around in all its contradictory glory.
