read moreCaruso's is a classic mom and pop Italian restaurant that has been around since 1971, with the daughter carrying on the legacy after her father passed away. The experience of dining here is reminiscent of traditional family-run Italian restaurants, with friendly staff who catered to a large group with ease. The food, from the minestrone soup to the pasta, was good and reasonably priced. What really stole the show was the thin crust Chicago pizza, bringing back memories of great neighborhood pizzerias. While some reviewers had less than stellar experiences with the food and service, others praised the atmosphere, service, and quality of the meals. Overall, Caruso's seems to be a gem of a restaurant for those seeking classic Italian dishes in a cozy setting.
