Best barbacoa in New Mexico hands down. I grew up in a Mexican family traveling to Mexico all the time so I guess you could say I know a thing or two about barbacoa and Barbacoa El Primo is definitely my go to when I want non greasy authentic barbacoa. Nothing bad about the food but I didn't feel comfortable upon visiting this place from the moment I walked through the door. Tbh I felt unwelcome and I felt a hostile vibe from entire place. Mind you it is a Mexican restaurant and the majority of the people that were there were spanish speaking. I've been on the hunt for delicious barbacoa since moving from Cruces, and I finally discovered it at this restaurant! It’s absolutely fantastic—I would say it’s the best I’ve ever had. I will definitely be returning for more. Food: 5/5

Without a doubt, Barbacoa El Primo offers the best barbacoa in New Mexico. Having grown up in a Mexican family and traveled frequently to Mexico, I have a good grasp of what authentic barbacoa should be like, and this place is my favorite for its delicious, non-greasy offerings. The service is exceptionally friendly and efficient, reminding me of home. I highly recommend it to all my family and friends!
This place is one of the best restaurants in New Mexico. The service, the food, and the people. I come here every couple weeks with my girlfriend and it always hits! Chili relleno burrito is next level, and the consumé is my go to every time! Try this place if you’ve never been you won’t be disappointed. Appreciate you El primo ?Food: 5/5
