We were lucky and got the table ne... read more Wondering through Albufeira trying to escape the restaurants with big screen tvs showing soccer cam across this little place. We were lucky and got the table next to the open window overlooking the beach. We visited at night and noticed a lunch special for chicken piri piri 9.5 E on a board outside the front door and asked if we could also get it at night. The waiter agreed and we ordered 2 and a ½ carafe of house wine 8.50E. The chicken is what we would classify as a baby chicken cut into quarters and served with chips. If you’re a big eater this is not for you. The chicken was moist and tender could have been a bit hotter on the piri piri side but acceptable. The ambiance well it was one of those nights where a couple of tables with 8 or so people all talking at once, so not a very a romantic quiet place but lively. I would have preferred to have visited for lunch as the view is spectacular, the place is on the road that goes over the tunnel that goes to the beach., just next to the Hotel Sole E Mar. The staff were very pleasant and the food came promptly. For Alubfeira the lunch specials are very good compared to the other restaurants in the main streets.

I thought peas and carrots was a strange combination to have with a fish kebab and I could have done with some kind of juice on the boiled rice as it was very dry. My partner had the lamb chops which were nice although the fat could have been a bit more crispy.

There is an outside seating area with 3 tables on a small balcony with lovely view towards the sea. We were given honest advice on which fish dishes were fresh and what was frozen.

Liked the service as the guys were friendly and attentive.

But the best one... read more Visited four times during October November. Mostly a seafood restaurant i tried grilled shrimps and cataplana and fish soup all were very nice. But the best one for my taste was the Portuguese style Steak with bacon and potatoes, drowned in garlic sauce. Highly recommend! The frontside ocean view is probably one the best you can get across Albufeira locations, even in low season if its not too windy. Otherwise you're welcome inside in a warm and family like atmosphere.
