Lavender Cottage - Albany

Shared a lunch of entrees, delicious food, good range of choices; congenial hostess, overall tres magnifique!

If you can get in here, go!!!! I've been waiting to go for years - I'm not an Albany local, and I never seem to remember to plan ahead and book. It's a little place, only open Friday nights. The food is exquisite. I had the charcuterie plate, the fish (poisson du jour) and the crème caramel. Plus palate cleansers and appetisers as part of the experience. All presented beautifully and tasted amazing. The setting is gorgeous in a little cottage with separate rooms and a cosy wood burner.The customer service was excellent - I've read the review of someone who was disgusted with the customer service and I sometimes think maybe people get what they give out. The service was brilliant - very friendly and welcoming and all the people there were really smiley and helpful. I couldn't fault it at all, and this is one area that is often the weak spot of a restaurant. But it couldn't have been better.It isn't cheap, but well worth it for the quality of the food. And it's not one of those tiny portion places - the serving sizes are good, and you won't leave hungry!

As always a lovely place to have an intimate meal. Beautiful food and good service. BYO is a bonus. Couldn't resist dessert- delicious creme brûlée.

Recently celebrated my birthday with friends for lunch at Lavender Cottage as usual food and service (have had dinner here also) was excellent. The restaurant in unfortunately only open Friday night for dinner , lunch available week days, this has to be one of me favourites in Albany

2 of my friends were turned away from the restaurant due to insufficient room to cater for a pre booking 40th birthday dinner. Definitely will not be going back.
